I'm amazed by how many people like Family Guy.
It was never a good show.
(In my opinion - just to explicitly state that so we don't get sidetracked by that)
I liked the show before it got cancelled. But I was a sophomore in high school, I think, at the time. Then after it was brought back, my tastes started changing. I've seen a few episodes from the first season since then, and I didn't find them as funny as I remembered. The show can still make me chuckle occasionally though.
Yes, but she learned in the end, the episode was primarily a Homer-Lisa bonding episode the vegetarian thing was just the excuse to explore the relationship.
True, but older Simpsons episodes in general had a story arc where the character learned a valuable lesson in the end. Especially in the first couple of seasons, it was a little corny and ham-fisted. But they really struck gold for the next few seasons. Family Guy is just kind of nihilistic.
Nevertheless, Lisa was the token liberal knowitall of the show, much like Brian has become.
