I think "not terrible" would be exactly how I would describe it, too. Can't say I agree, OP. I think the game looks...not terrible...
I definitely wouldn't use "amazing" in a way to describe ReCore's visuals. Maybe "serviceable?"

Found some screenshots posted by @ResidentDante better showcasing it's graphics in normal view direct gameplay. Click for full view https://neogaf.site/forum/showpost.php?p=217464107&postcount=10123
Wonder how @Gestault got cleaner screens what trickery was used?

PC version maybe?
I don't know about other people, but to me, the game was one of a small handful which actually looked interesting to me aesthetically and gameplay-wise across all games revealed at both recent E3s.
The exclusivity is a deterrent.
Well, I'd have bought the game and maybe talked about its graphics if it was available on PC in a format that allows me to leverage the platform.
Man, that UI looks terrible in those screenshots. Is it that bad when the game is moving? Shit looks like clip-art.
Also the frame rate is pretty bad on XboxOne.

Yeah. Playing on Xbox, it looks fine when your standing still but as soon as you start moving the textures are blurred and overall not great looking. Which is a shame cuz you can see the devs put in some small cool details like Joule's tan and sunspots on her face.I think "not terrible" would be exactly how I would describe it, too.

It's all about expectations. This was a $40 game on release developed by a pretty small studio whose highest-profile project was Batman: Blackgate. In that context, yeah, I think it's pretty dang impressive. The prevailing sentiment that anything that doesn't have graphics that stand shoulder to shoulder with big AAA releases is 'disappointing' is exactly why B-tier games have dried up or been hacked into smaller-scope downloadable projects.
It's art style is great and makes up for its shortcomings. But even on PC it looks like a mid budget title. And that's ok.Im playing this right now and i think its one of the most beatiful games out there, dont remember seeing anything givin praise to that, i think more people should give a shot to the demo and see it, this game really fell of the radar, im loving the gameplay too.
I think that's the point people are making here. It looks just fine...nothing more. "Serviceable"Jesus, the game doesn't even look that bad as some people here are making it to be. People see some jagged pixels and then go batshit insane, holy shit. I'd really like to see some really unflattering pictures of this game, because until now it looks fine
