definitely wait until you have some MUST HAVE games and/or wait for a nice "price drop" or bundle from a retailer. I also would think nintendo will price drop nearer the vita launch.

I would advise staying as far away from this site as humanly possible.friskykillface said:check craigs list too, they have cheap systems as well.
False, it's not a great time to pick up a 3DS. There may be sales for current 3DS titles, but that's not saying much -- it's stuff like Rayman 3D, Ghost Recon, Super Monkey Ball, etc -- stuff that even at $17 feels like a ripoff. Right now the only games worth considering are Street Fighter and DoA Dimensions, which are solid, but there's nothing imo that would really justify spending $250 for. As far as Nintendo releasing their tried and true series', sure, you know Mario Kart, Pokemon, Smash will all be great...the question is how long do you want to wait for them.sk3tch said:I think it's a great time to pick up a 3DS. Even if you're not into too many of the games - because everything is so cheap right now. Due to the launch lineup not impressing many, there's a lot of great sales. Toys R Us is selling a bunch of games for $16.99 starting today, for example. The games may not be AAA quality, but they are fun. Especially if you don't have a DS or DSi - there's a TON of games there to tide you over while you wait for the eventual awesome Nintendo titles this holiday and beyond.
They really are worth the price. Zelda adds tons of stuff and looks gorgeous, and the same can be said for Starfox.Brandon F said:Two (albeit great) N64 port updates for $40 each? Fucking insane.
Have you actually played Ghost Recon? If you have that's fine, but a lot of people mistakenly assume that it's a crappy port like Splinter Cell, but it's actually a surprisingly good turned-based tactical game.24FrameDaVinci said:False, it's not a great time to pick up a 3DS. Don't forget the bottom screen border seems to be scratching the top screen on the current modelThe_Technomancer said:You sound like the same position I'm in. I want one, but I'm waiting until it gets games I actually want. At this point, that's OoT and nothing else, so I'm holding off.
Izayoi said:Lots of games this holiday. Mario, Animal Crossing, Kid Icarus, Starfox, etc. There also might be bundles, so unless you need to have it now, I would just wait.

Hold off on a 3DS, I guess...

Hey man. Medabots is awesome.Yuterald said:You don't like Zelda games and Medabots and Cartoon Network games are deciding factors?

Did you play them at E3? The 3D trailers looked really great. The only one that I really didn't like was the MGS. Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart, RE, etc. all looked good. How exactly did Kid Icarus feel "cheap"? Was it just the bad voice acting? Visually the game looks pretty neat and previous gameplay impressions have been positive, so I'm curious as to what it was that you didn't like about it.Shadow of the BEAST said:I must say that what i saw of those games was not good. I was especially disappointed with mario and kid icarus. The pre set camera made mario feel like some early 3d game from the 1994. Maybe the 3d is what makes it works. And kid icarus just felt cheap. Like a bad anime game.
The big guns comes from capcom imo. Especially resident evil revelation and mega man legends 3.
I... I don't understand.Takao said:I played Ocarina of Time for like an hour and never wanted to play it again.
Oh. ;_;Truth101 said:Animal Crossing isn't coming out until next year =[
Takao said:I'm not really interested in fighters, so that rules out Blazblue, Street Fighter, and Dead or Alive. I hate Zelda games, so don't bother recommending me that. I played that Pilotwings, and Submarine game and didn't think any were good. I like Ridge Racer decently, but I've heard 3D isn't that good, and Resident Evil Mercs looks dull.
Takao said:My avatar tells you I will be buying one of those.
But I kind of want a 3DS. But I'm thinking it might be the money in my wallet, and a craving for new tech talking.
Oni Link 666 said:There's probably a Dragon Ball game coming to 3DS. Nintendo showed the logo at the conference at E3 2010. Maybe you'd like to have the system for that. IDK. You seem to be pretty big into DB.

I just ordered one from here since $212 was too hard to pass up. (And I can't see it getting that much cheaper for awhile.)

What do you mean "up to par"? A Lite model would likely only increase size and battery life.Rapstah said:At this rate, the hardware should be up to par around the time when the first native 3DS Pokémon games release. That would make that a decent time for me to jump in.
I think though, that it might be worth checking out OOT on the 3DS since it is portable. It's possible that although you don't particularly find to have much fun playing a console game, the portable version is a lot more palatable.Takao said:Zelda games are really, really dull to me. The Cartoon Network game looks kind of fun, but got mixed reviews.
Medabots games (this new entry is another RPG) are supposedly almost always good (I have only played the GBA Medarot 2 remake). So I don't know what you're criticizing there.

Battery life sounds sub-par from early reports and the whole screen scratching thing would probably have to go too.Izayoi said:What do you mean "up to par"? A Lite model would likely only increase size and battery life.
There will be come Fall, most likely.Takao said:Is there a demo available? I would not want to spend $40 to find out I still hate the game.
I've personally never had a problem with the battery life. It's really only max brightness w/ 3D, max volume, Wi-fi, etc. that kills the battery. Screen scratching isn't really scratching, it's more smudging, but yeah it's really annoying and I'm glad I invested in screen protectors.Rapstah said:Battery life sounds sub-par from early reports and the whole screen scratching thing would probably have to go too.
On the eShop or Nintendo Channel? Not that I know of. I would guess it depends on a store-by-store basis if there exists a retail demo.Takao said:Is there a demo available? I would not want to spend $40 to find out I still hate the game.
