I remember watching this pretty often with the family, despite being pretty young. 'Homie don't play that' was oft heard on the playgrounds, so I obviously wasn't the only one.
Yeah plus back in that era our parents gave less than zero fucks what we watched on TV haha. This and Married with Children were prime time shows that middle schoolers were watching haha.
My grandfather was technical director on this show. He got me autographs of everyone on the show except for Jim Carrey who wasn't around I even got the autographs of the fly girls when Jennifer Lopez was a member. Wonder if any of that is valuable...
I was just reading that it was because of the ratings success this episode of In Living Color was, that they finally decided to change the format of the half time show so superstars can perform... hence they tapped Michael Jackson the following year. That shit is wild when you think about it.

"The special episode of In Living Color drew over 22 million viewers away from the Super Bowl telecast, and led the NFL to consider top performers in subsequent years."
Fox didn't come to Canada until the mid/late-90s so I think I basically missed out on this show in its prime. I've seen a few re-runs and YouTube clips since then.
