Another friend a week ago said it "looked retarded". We were at the beach, so I made sure he drowned in the ocean.

You think that's bad? I just had friends who decided that, from the trailers, Takers>Inception>>>>>>>>Scott Pilgrim. /facepalm

I have a strong (sad) feeling that Scott Pilgrim won't do that well. Everyone I know thinks it looks fucking retarded (outside of my movie geek friend circle).

My other friend (who is an established film writer) thinks Inception will stop dead at $100 million domestic. :lol

The Illusionist was pretty terrible, now you are just trolling.
He was and anybody who says that Illusionist > Prestige is a troll. There is just no comparison.

Less than one week for me, cant wait.

I've never understood why they are basically at the same score on RT. The Illusionist is a bland, completely unmemorable movie.

some more twitter reactions:

@sarahlmorgan: Oh sweet Jesus Inception is amazing. It's like eternal sunshine of the spotless mind with a budget of a billion quid.

#inception

Mother of god. Put that on the box.

I'm still waiting for someone to cut an Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind trailer in the style of the Inception ones. If I knew how I'd have done it myself already.

twitter:

Studio movies live: 10/10 "Inception is simply a miracle of cinema disguised as a blockbuster"
Inception...can't even describe it. Buy your tickets now, you won't be disappointed

OK. So. Its TOO simple to say that it's the 'must-see' movie. #INCEPTION is an astonishing cinematic masterpiece that HAS to be experienced!

@citizenlowry:
My mind is STILL blown by Inception. The more I think about it, the greater triumph it seems. KILL TO SEE IT.

another 5/5 review:
nothing less than the boldest sci-fi action movie since the first Matrix film.
it stands comparison even with the mighty Blade Runner.

And yeah, some viewers won't like it, and will write it off as pointlessly complicated. But that's their problem, not Inception's...some films ARE too confusing for their own good. But others just require you to man-up and pay attention to reap the rewards - and this bad boy is one of them.

another extremely positive review

This stunning all-action sci-fi thriller is a truly brilliant bit of cinema, and really does deliver in terms of mind-bending effects and spectacular action moments.

A truly stunning piece of sci-fi action... a film that will leave you wanting more.

My god. The reviews for this movie are FUCKING INCREDIBLE. Even TDK wasn't reviewed as well as Inception has been so far.

TFK had a 94%, 17 negative reviews and 8.5/10 average. Let's see if Inception can beat it!

I don't think it will. The supposedly "confusing" plot will turn off too many critics. I'd rather have a divisive, unique film though.

Inception's undying praise is actually effecting my hype in a bad way.. I can only stomach Nolan being compared to Kubrick for so long :(

Daniel, you've gotten to stop HYPING this movie so much, Solo must be getting nightmares ... :lol

You've got it completely wrong. I love to see people get themselves ridiculously overhyped. Only makes it that much more entertaining when they receive a movie that could never live up to what they've built in their minds.

I'm glad I've learned how to not let hype affect me once I actually see it. It makes overindulging on the hyperbole beforehand a lot more fun.

harson has a blog that he pimps everywhere now DMczaf, he can now say things like that. Owning a shitty blog is like that.

It's not a blog in the traditional sense and I don't exactly pimp it. I simply combined my passion for film and my need to practice writing in the most logical way possible. I have absolutely no desire to become a film critic or anything related to film journalism, and I'd have absolutely no issue omitting the source of my reviews from my future posts if it bothers you and other members that much.

I never said I wouldn't enjoy Inception, if it's a good film like the majority of Nolan's filmography, I most certainly will. I'm simply annoyed at the short sighted and ridiculous hyperbole that comes alongside his directorial releases. And like I said, I can only take so many synonymous comparisons to Kubrick, one of the better directors of all time, before I start to get nauseated. I'm fully expecting Inception to be great, so there's no need to lash out at me simply because I'm not going into this fully expecting it to be a cinematic masterpiece of Kubrickian proportions.

And for someone so ridiculously opinionated, you sure get overly defensive when someone else's views don't meld perfectly with your own :lol

I wonder if this will usurp TDK as Speeding's new 'best movie evar'.
It probably will, but then it'll be usurped by Bond 23 when that hobbles it's way out of the trash can after I've grown old and died.

You're gonna die before 2012? Damn, son, no Batman 3 for you!

I won't be seeing this until either Sunday or Monday. I can only troll older Nolan until then :(

Hans Zimmer's composing pad:

Zimmer-1-sm.jpg

Composer Hans Zimmer and guitarist Johnny Marr will perform Zimmer’s music to “Inception” at a party following the film’s premiere on Tuesday, July 13. The performance will be backed by a 20-piece orchestra, and will stream live on Ustream.

Zimmer’s score to “Inception,” one of the elements of the film often singled out in early rave reviews, was recorded with the help of guitarist Marr, best-known for his stint in The Smiths. The original soundtrack album, “Inception: Music From the Motion Picture,” will be released the same day as the Zimmer/Marr performance.

The concert can be heard live Tuesday night on ustream.

We're all gonna die in 2012, Solo. Nolan will complete the film & release it early and after that, no one will care about Bond 23 because we'll have all agreed our existence has accomplished all it can do in this life and mutually agree the time has come to move on.

But I'm sure Solo X will enjoy the fuck out of Bond 23, no doubt.

I have a ticket to a screening tomorrow in San Jose but none of my friends were able to take advantage of the offer, and I don't really enjoy repeat viewings that are days apart, so I just gave the ticket to my brother... I'll probably watch it with some friends at a midnight opening somewhere.
