Indie Games 2016 [May] Lets play some Indies!

Pine - Free alpha (PC)
CiQhZDOWwAAkqRW.jpg

http://twirlbound.com/pine/

Pine is a game about evolution. Using neural network AI technologies, we advance regular enemy design by making the world and its inhabitants adapt to the player's behaviour and actions. In Pine, all inhabitants have the shared goal and struggle of survival. Players interact with a systematic ruleset that allows for infinite choices and that tailors the gameplay to any player's style.
Edit: you need to request a key to try the build

StarBreak is interesting little run and gun MMO. Had a nice little group of 5-6 players in the first area and was fun. Can be a hard to see projectiles coming towards you when there's a bunch of people shooting on the screen.

Guys, here's 5 vouchers for our indie game, VEV. Done in the spirit of things decidedly off the beaten path, that won't appeal to everyone (We gathered that when people asked us why we didn't give our bacteria a missile launcher). Also with no shortage of GAF references either ;-)

Edit- whoops, sorry, forgot to mention, this is for PS4. Codes will work for US accounts only.

(Quote to reveal)

Grabbed one, 9GJB-8BN3-KL3L! Thanks m0dus!

Sounds like Salt & Sanctuary is coming sometime this month

JaseC said in the Steam thread that based on it's position in the Steam upcoming list, it looks like May 17th.

You can see it's placement here:

How good is Salt and Sanctuary? I read a lot of mixed opinions about the game.

I've heard the game is good, but the art direction is all over the place. I've seen pictures of the bad examples of the art direction and I'd have to agree with that. It's a James Silva game.

Yeo, from the imagens I've seen the art is not coeherent and mixes a lot of styles, evento the cover art didn't grab me. I had no idea who that developer was, as I never owned a X360, or any other console from that generation.

Kathy Rain is pretty good so far! It might just be the moody music talking or the few Twin Peaks references but I'm enjoying myself.

Had a go on the finished version of Blueprint Tycoon and it seems solid. Although the UI is a little clunky at times which does kinda take it down a few notches since good clear immediate UI is a pretty vital component of most management games. If you are bored of games like Factorio, SpaceChem and Big Pharma then it is worth a punt for the nothing asking price.

Hello indie GAF, hope you are having a good time.

Its almost time for my summer vacations, so I am looking for some relaxing building / managing / strategy / rpg games. If they combine all of those categories the better.

Some recent indie games I enjoyed are: Thea: The Awakening, Celestian Tales: Old North, Amber throne.

Thanks!!!

no game of the month voting and a shockingly small 'released' section. what happened?
Actually there were quite a few release posts in the last thread that didn't get included in this one. Stephen's Sausage Roll, Starship Corporation, Offworld Trading Company, to name a few

You, my friend, want to play Stardew Valley. Farm building, crop management, a bit of strategy with your spendings and some light RPG elements on top. All while being completely pressure free and able to be played at your own pace.

Are we sure it's coming tomorrow?

Not certain, but it is snuggled between a lot of games that have the 17th as their release date which heavily implies it will be tomorrow. On a related note, their is something like 20 steam indie games out tomorrow, it is a bit of a bloodbath.

Shadwen and Soft Body (and maybe Salt) are the major indie releases tomorrow

And then Homefront is coming out as well

Also Space Pirates vs Zombies 2 is entering EA tomorrow. I am probably not going to get it due to the early access factor but I'll follow its development for sure.

Thanks, looks like something I have to play.

Yeah, that is one game I am eyeing, what is the difference with World's Dawn?

Also, anyone played Moonstone Tavern - A Fantasy Tavern Sim!?

Moonstone Tavern

The game looks interesting.

I can't say I am afraid, never played World's Dawn. Although if you are looking for more relaxing games Eufloria and Osmos came to mind. They are both kinda very ambient strategy puzzle games. If you go down the puzzle rabbithole their are games like Hexcells, Hook, Splice, Squarelogic, Quell and Audiosurf (depends on what you listen to.)

My SnS paladin is up and running. Very glad it is actually out today. I was a little worried after earlier it disappeared from the up and coming list an hour or so before it was due to be out.
