Indie Games 2017 [February] Eon Echo on Evangelines Ellipsis

Frezzes. Game not responding for a few minutes.
The screen switch back and forth, when changing rooms.

That sounds rough. Fraid I can't help, didn't encounter any problems like that, although if you post them on the steam forum one of the devs might be able to sort it out for you. They seem fairly active on their currently. Their is a late game effect that causes my game to freeze for a second, but I am semi certain that might be intentional and it doesn't sound like it is related to your issues at all.

This just appeared in my twitter feed. I'm seldom a fan of pixel art-y games but this looks like it could be the sidescrolling Hyper Light Drifter. It's coming to Kickstarter on Feb 21st.

How could you not want this based on the radical cover art?

Wow

Seeing that trailer makes me feel the same way I did when I saw Hyper Light Drifter for the first time (that was the first game I backed on KS)

There are already a couple of threads on here where I talk about the development of this game (and it's predecessor which I developed back in 2011) but just thought I'd drop it in here in case anyone is interested! :)

Best,

Is there something in the air? Three devs of classic indie games (FTL, Rogue Legacy, Knytt) all reveal their new games all in the same month

Cross fingers for a Spelunky successor? :p

I have installed GreaseMonkey with a bunch of scripts for NeoGAF, and the "Image Scaling" script is a game changer for this thread! Images posted by MB are so big, it is much more enjoyable!

Also, the Youtube script is super useful:

Does anyone sub to this? I'm tempted to give it a shot for a couple of months but the last thing I need is more shit I won't play...

It is good. It is not the usual bundle. 😀

First time last month. It was such a great decision to refund Gamepump and go with Humble

It's totally worth it.

February alone:
Hollow Knight demo + discount
Xcom 2
Steamworld Heist
Abzu
Ryse: Son of Rome
Okhlos
Project Highrise
Husk,
Oh Deer

At least one or two great indie games every month

March will include Total Warhammer

I believe Monthly subscribers get 10% off on games? Hollow Knight was $13.49 for me

Oh yes - I thought there was a game specific discount for Hollow in the bundle.

You get 10% off everything in the store - not bad, especially when you also can take 5% of what you pay and put into your wallet for the next purchase. Small things, but it adds up.

Any word on that Hollow Knight demo being made public before or at release? I am very unlikely to not pick it up at this point but it is always nice to see if my toaster can run it.

What would be a recent puzzle platformer/metroidvania recommendation?

Just beat Alwa's Awakening.
Resin bevor that.
Really liked Environmental Station Alpha, Axiom Verge, Fez, Ori, Guacamelee.

My new game Stage Presence, published by tinyBuild, is coming out on Steam on Feb 28th. A few people might recognise it from the Indie Dev gaf thread. For those that don't know, it's a Comedy / Horror / Karaoke game (with optional VR bits if that's your jam). Super excited to finally release it!

Pharaoh Rebirth+ is a great Metroidvania.
Elliot Quest is another one of my favorites. Odallus is also great.

These are all stage based, but with large stages you can go back to and find more secrets after you gain more abilities.

If you don't mind a challenge (and instant death spikes) Castle in the Darkness is really good. Lots of secrets and many boss battles.

Did you manage to fix the freezing problem in the end?
Not really. But the only seem to occur when I'm using my GPD Win at my girlfriend's with her shitty Internet.

Combat is pretty tricky and gets harder with every boss you beat because your character gets weaker and slower.
Made a thread about it here: http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=1343574

Can someone please help remember a game I'm trying to track down?

It's an indie-action RPG. Has an anime aesthetic, with a girl that might either be a cyborg (or just a girl with futuristic armor). I believe it was crowdfunded but I don't know if it's been released yet or not.

I wanna say it had the word "Kronos" in the title, but I'm not too sure. Google hasn't been helping me.

It's great when you discover something you had no idea existed. Unexplored got an RPS Recommended review
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2017/02/23/unexplored-review/
Unexplored generates some of the best dungeons I've ever seen. On my best run so far, I forged a sword of despair and enemies trembled and fled when I pointed it in their general direction. On my most entertaining run, a Dagger of Shrieking fused itself to my hand. Every twenty seconds or so, it would scream, alerting every bastard thing in the dungeon to my presence.

So many roguelikes (and lites), so little time. What a pleasure it is, then, to find Unexplored, a new dungeon-crawler that immediately stands out from the pack, and that can be played swiftly and without too much time spent on the learning curve. It's a wonderful game that creates my favourite procedural levels since Invisible, Inc.

Pre-Alpha Demo
Kickstarter
Organ Quarter is a VR survival horror game focused on what made survival horror great: labyrinthine environments, resource management and well-balanced puzzling. We'd love to pay homage to the slow, methodical survival horror experiences of the '90s – this includes building a compelling world and universe as well as making a great adventure.

The twist: Organ Quarter will also leverage hand-tracked and room-scale VR to provide the most intense and unsettling experience possible. We're going to bring horror into the realm of the intimate. Horror in your personal space, as well as in the world outside.

Currently for HTC Vive only but can be wrapped to work with Oculus Rift + Touch and will ultimately be officially ported to Rift and non-VR PC.
