Infinity Ward: COD: Ghosts will "definitely look better [than on 360]" on Xbox One

CBOAT said 720p so... he's more credible than that "back in june" reference. We heard a lot of crap several months ago and you know how most of those promises turned out.

That just doesn't make sense to me, especially since the Xbox One got the hardware boost way after the June article. I just find it impossible to believe that Call of duty can't run at 1080p on the Xbox One. Bookmark this page and you can all rain hate on me if I am proven wrong.

"This game runs like a dog" is generally an insult, but what if your game lets you play as a dog?

That's good shit right there.

Understood, but if you read the article they reference the 1080 60fps mentioned back in June, which is basically reiterating that those are the specs.

But what does it matter what a developer said in an interview in June concerning unfinished builds? There have been a number of GAF insiders confirming 720p as well as a couple of journalists mentioning a coming resolution storm.

LOL...your name is perfect..

Maybe IW told them when they talked to them....who knows? I don't.

So it is definitely running at 1080p? i'm personally not that bothered if it is or isn't, but as i'm sure your aware there's a massive s***-storm brewing at the moment in regards to the games resolution :|

I've asked Rubin to comment on that, but not had any word back just yet. He's in a different timezone, so if we hear I guess it'll be overnight.

You will be proven wrong but nobody will care.

statements like 'I find it hard to believe' indicate a bias. If you ever find yourself using them, you need to step away from your *beliefs* and take a look at the available data and try to keep your beliefs out of it. they should be a red flag to you, that you're discrediting something because it doesn't 'sound right'.

Do you find it hard to believe that Killer Instinct is running at 720p and 60 fps? Because it is.

Wonder if there will be a response.

Slightly OT (hey, it has to do with CoD :p)

Just noticed this a little bit ago on GreenManGaming

20% OFF Battlefield 4: TAREM-BF4NA-PROMO
15% OFF Call of Duty: Ghosts: TAREM-GHOST-PROMO

Anyway, I wonder if we'll get any confirmation before release.

Glad Infinity Ward confirmed this. Was getting worried for a second that X1 version would indeed look worse.

Nothing to do with bias, I find it hard to believe because its a Call of duty game running on an extremely old engine that has been upgraded slightly over the years.

Lmao...and that epic thread that was based on a flimsy rumor was all for nothing..CLASSIC

Who exactly has established that?

No I read the article, it clearly states that the game runs at 60 fps at 1080p..the thread title is great though for sure

Oh yea? More legit then an interview with the developers? As much as I trust CBOAT, he isn't always 100% right.

Dude, The game will be 1080p on XB1 but upscale not native. The question was never if it will be 1080p but is it native or upscale by XB1.

Just accept the fact. You are fighting a losing battle here.

Believe, my friend. Believe. I should go now.

Nothing changed in the hardware. They announced that they'd increased the clock speeds of the CPU slightly though we never had official word previously what it was clocked at. So the CPU didn't change, they just found they could increase the clock speed slightly. The increase in CPU speed is not going to give more than a few FPS, the real gap in power is in GPU. But honestly, as far as answering your question, the console should be able to run 1080p titles (and I'm sure it will) but the development tools on Xbone are reportedly much further behind the PS4's tools. So basically, devs are behind on Xbone versions of multiplatform titles. Xbone should be fine but will likely end up with multiplatform titles with a little less bells and whistles than the PS4 counterpart. It'll be what PS3 and 360 multiplats have been this gen, but reversed.

Also, this title and article seems as useful as saying water is wet, bears eat fish, etc.

Doesn't matter if the game isn't optimized well. We've seen crappy games needing insanely high specs on PC to run at the ultra settings. Given that Xbox One is behind schedule, it actually makes sense that it can't run at 1080p.

so? if Killer Instinct is only 720p and 60 fps, why is it surprising that COD potentially is?

they've put in a bunch more upgrades into the Xbox One/PS4 version than they have into the 360/PS3 version of Ghosts, which is kind of what this article is actually all about. do you find that hard to believe too?

Why is anyone still putting faith in the Eurogamer Article when we have found out that the only game that was 1080P was Forza when they previously said that every Xone game was running at 1080P and we now know that is not the case.

That makes more sense to me, I don't know much about optimization and development tools, I just automatically assumed a COD game would be running at a high resolution for all the next gen console. I submit to you guys, please forgive the naiveness.

That hardware boost was insignificant, more PR than real tangible/visible improvement

Edit: beaten and better explained by andycapps

I do seriously think this article is more in response to that horrible footage IGN put out, than anything else. At half the framerate, blurred to shit by compression, that footage doesn't look much better than current gen.

But I bet the final version will look notably better than current gen, even *IF* it's 720p and even *IF* it's the worst looking launch title.

600p vs 720p (hypothetically). a number of confirmed added graphical techniques and effects. it's not going to be remotely difficult to tell which is the next gen one and which isn't.

No problem. And honestly, it'll still play like a CoD game and it'll look decent, so if you're into the gameplay and buying a next gen console, might as well get the next gen version. For me, I'm done with CoD until they change things up quite a bit. Maybe next year.

The Xbone has such a negative image that developers need to confirm that games on the paltform do actually look better than on 360?
lol

Damn time zones. So it will be what, 2 or three hours till the call goes through and his phone rings? I can wait...

"As revealed by Eurogamer in June, the game runs at 60 frames per second in 1080p"

So they're agreeing that THEIR hands on was ALSO 60fps @ 1080p CURRENTLY

All you people have horrible reading comprehension.

Actually the author, in the comments, said he was reaching out to IW for comment on what the resolution is. So he clearly isn't certain that it's 1080p.

Wow...is X1 really this WEAK? I mean comparing it to an 8 years old machine?

well it's the official magazine of the xbox and they are telling customers the game will look much better on the new xbox.

seems a reasonable comparison for the xbox magazine to compare Xboxes.

Or he's a bad writer with a bias towards xbox...
