Cyclops: Yo, the Inhumans are trying to kill us all or they are killing us and they don't really care about it. I'm going to fight them.
X-Men: Why are you trying to attack the Inhumans? Bad Cyclops!
*Cyclops dies-ish*
X-Men: The Inhumans are trying to kill us all or they are killing us and they don't really care about it. We're going to fight them!

this is what it is looking like for sure

My understanding of black bolts power was the ability to stfu lest he destroy everything so I was like why would magneto have trouble with that? Then I read his wiki and holy shit that's some speed force level shenanigans with how he has so many derivative powers.
Yeah his scream is the least of his powers.

fuck them both.

"Who do I want to lose more, inhumans or muties?"

What are the villains even doing these days? Just chilling waiting it out? Instability breeds chaos breeds opportunity. Even better when the ones causing it are all do-gooders who run around in tights trying to prove their worth to the world at large. How hasn't the Old Man Logan universe come to pass already with all these hero squabbles?

Well....

I'll just put everything in spoilers just to be sure

Regarding X-Men villains, Magneto these days is an anti-hero fighting for mutantkind together with Psylocke, Sabretooth, Monet and someone else. Sabretooth is still inverted because of the AXIS event which means he's a gruff good guy now. I'm not even joking. We only have Genesis now, Apocalypse's clone who is a member of the team in All New X-Men. The New Hellfire Club just disappeared. Nothing new about Sentinals or shit. And oh Toad and Blob are just doing nothing.

Other villains... Red Skull is messing with Steve's brain while using the cosmic cube, Doctor Octopus's mind is silently preparing his return inside of a robot while working at Parker Industries, Osborne is into selling Goblin weapons to third world countries... that's about it I guess. Lots of villains are out there, just biding their time I guess.

I bet a lot of people who have X-Gene's that didn't activate at the end of AvX for whatever reason will die because of the mist during this event.

Public opinion of the Inhumans will go to shit.

SHIELD & the Avengers will get involved & start treating the Inhumans the same way the X-Men were treated during AvX.

Cyclops will come back & say "Welcome to the field, hope you had fun in the house cuz you aint gettin' back in."

Black Bolt, Medusa, Cyclops & Emma will rip off their costumes revealing shirts that say "X-Humans" & the 2 groups will unite then find a way to cure M-Pox.

Thank goodness I'm doing this full X-men reading because how the fuck did this happen. Either way, I'm hype to get through all of this shit by next year so I can finally read this exact comic on this exact day next year 💀💀💀

I'm honestly growing tired of the burying of the X-Men. At this point I just wish Marvel had wiped them out permanently with Secret Wars as opposed to witnessing this transparent killing of the franchise in slow motion.

They've been shitting on their franchises for decades, marvel has the worst writers.

Yep, I don't get why they didn't just spin the X-Men off into their own universe after Secret Wars.

Thanks, I knew what some of the major heavyweights were up to, but I still think it's ridiculous how even a lot of the low/mid-tier villains aren't just lapping this up. Even the ones that have nothing to do with the Inhumans or X-Men as I'm sure this will have to spill out some way. Both groups have sympathizers and ties with those outside. Mainly this is just me arguing against these vs events, especially ones that happen back-to-back like this. I guess this is what happens when you don't have villains to occupy your time.

She broke it off with Human Torch.

Since when? I thought they were still together as of the current event? Not like that relationship was designated to last for more than a year or two but still...

You people have no idea what a burying looks like, spinning the X-Men into their own universe doesn't suddenly they'll suddenly get a new writing team. Like, everytime X-fans get a whiff of something they don't like they cry conspiracy.

Schism all over again.

Later on we discover the mutant gene is a mutation of the inhuman gene so mutants were inhuman mutants so we were again in Earth X all the time.

To be fair, I almost forgot about Avengers: Standoff, a fun crossover series.

A lot of villains (big and small) like Zemo, Absorbing Man, Moonstone, Trapster, The Wrecker etc. were trapped in the gated community "Pleasant Hill" where the cosmic cube, which took the form of a little girl named Kobik, altered their memories and looks. All of the villains thought they were residents of this peaceful little town and don't remember a thing about their former lives. Pleasant Hill is watched over by Maria Hill and S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Avengers, Avengers Unity Squad don't care for this btw. Hell breaks lose.

Man X-fans just can't get out of their feelings huh? Medusa is actively working to try and neutralize the effects of the Terrigen with Beast.
Medusa is allowing Beast to use her resources, but she doesn't give a fuck.
Young Cyclops >>> Old Clops

Bring back the series where he traveled with Corsair damnit
That was the only time young Scott has been good. That and when he talked mad shit to the Shi'ar Imperial Guard during the Trial of Jean Grey.

Otherwise, the only things he's done has been whining about older Scott and getting his shit kicked in.

So do regular humans hate on inhumans like they hate on mutants?

Nope, even after Inhumans gas them and cause ton of people to die.

Inhumans like other super peeps can be all magical, super powered, deformed, etc, and no one seems to care.

But omg mutants evil.

The whole humans vs. mutant thing is something thats been dragged along for way to long

This. Medusa wants to keep the increase in the Inhuman population, but even she noted that a war between Inhumans & mutants would end badly. That's why she brought on Beast, to both help her in getting rid of the mists' negative impact on mutants & serve as a liaison between the Inhumans & the mutants (kinda like how Human Torch is serving as a liaison between the humans & the Inhumans).

As stated before, there is indeed something fishy going on with Marvel's treatment of the mutants. But said treatment isn't in the comics, so you guys can relax. This event will likely end in the either side finding a way to cure the mutants of whatever the Terrigen Mists did to them so both sides can continue to co-exist.

Just posted this in the other topic by accident:

I thought Marvel weren't doing any more X-Men stuff any more, as they don't want to promote the Fox films? Or am I mixing that up with Fantastic Four? Does this feel like an opportunity for Marvel to just hammer and kill off the X-Men and assert the Inhumans as the alpha team?

Apparently Fox gets some cash from F4 stuff whenever Marvel does F4 comics/games/merch around the time of the movies (someone pointed this out to me earlier in the thread, which was quite the eye-opener), hence why Marvel outright cancelled that comic. As for the X-Men, as far as I've been able to research, Fox doesn't see a dime as long as it's not based on the movie incarnations of the X-Men. So while Marvel cut off the use of X-Men (& F4 characters) in games, decreased their use in merchandise, & phased them out of the cartoons, their comics are still going strong. As stated before, while comic books don't make up a majority of Marvel's profits, outright cancelling the X-Men comics would cause a PR shit-storm that'll make headlines for a good long while (& not in a good way). I doubt that Marvel would want to run the risk of painting a target on their backs.

Marvel doesn't actually want to kill off the X-Men or eliminate mutants but they are taking full advantage of the fact that people think it might happen in order to make the threat feel real and sell more comics.

Exactly. We really have nothing to fear for the future of the X-Men on the comic book side of things.

The Inhuman push knows no bounds. At this rate Marvel might actually kill off the X-Men by accident, they've been taking some hard Ls for over a decade.

You know what would be interesting? What if marvel decides to merge the two properties into something new? Let's be honest Xmen hasn't been significant or really interesting in the past, what, 10 years? And Inhumans never got off the ground, and their whole concept isn't as easy to accept as Xmen anyway, even tho they're so similar...

It would be cool I think.

I feel like the guys doing the comics didn't expect the film to get delayed. While granted, the Inhumans movie is still happening (which Kevin Feige reaffirmed as of Comic-Con), we probably won't see it in theaters until around 2021. Now they're gonna have to keep whatever interest their is for the Inhumans alive for another 4-5 years.

Doing this because Marvel/Disney are bitter. They won't make more bad guy stories so they will just get rid of them as to not give FOX more stories. Makes me glad I don't read the comics.

FOX doesn't get cash from F4 stuff, another company does since FOX doesn't own F4. Constantin Films bought the rights in 1986, but they are tiny and have good relations with FOX.

FOX just have movie rights. No merch and I think only partial TV rights (that's why they are teaming up with Marvel to make the new show). You just don't see merch rights because they would be supporting the movie and they are trying to "starve FOX." I really wish it would end but I want FOX to keep movie rights. I want cool X-Men and LEGO X-Men again.

But it seems like Fox does have some kind of control over the franchise, seeing as their executives seem to be pretty involved with the F4 movies.

While it's true that Marvel will never completely kill off the X-Men line, those characters have become mostly irrelevant since House of M. Not that there hasn't been good stories since but the downsizing of the mutant population kind of killed the core concept of the X-Men. I loved what Grant Morrison was doing during his run, it felt like a natural (albeit very strange) extension of the Claremont run. The mutant population and culture was growing and the X-Men were at the forefront of a cultural change. I really liked the David Hine District X comic during that same period, it explored some of those ideas further. The X-Men concept was actually relevant.

Now, Marvel will never completely cancel the books but they are just jobbers for the Inhumans and they will never allow the line to grow too much ever again. They will just keep it around to keep fans off their back.

I blame Bendis. He's the reason I stay away from the main titles each time another one of his shitty events rears its head.

I like his Daredevil run.

Seriously though. I've gotten out of comics lately. I use to follow Beast exclusively. How they are writing him (not sure about art) makes me sad.

Comics period are awesome again and it's sad that the x-books are all trash. They got me into comics and ironically picking up a copy of Wolverine and the Xmen got me back I to comics. And then they canceled that title and the books are pure garbage.
