The same people who only ever want Venom and Carnage in Spider-Man films.
For guest characters, the licensing arrangements have to be worked out far in advance. As such, I think it would be fair to say the "guest list" has already been confirmed, especially considering it takes months upon months of work to take the characters from the concept stage to fully realizing for the game itself.
Sure, I agree, but who knows how far out they are planning given they said they plan to be aggressive with DLC. Securing contracts isn't really an issue with MK characters since they own the rights already.
Hey now whoa. Venom is acceptable. I'd much rather have Venom in a movie than C-listers like Sandman, Vulture, and Shocker.

Is that REALLY unfair though. We never technically got venom still.
I know that hence the thing at the end, I'd rather not have any mortal mom at characters.

I wasn't sarcastic or anything, WW improved a lot from her reveal and looks like at least 8000 times better than she did in Injustice 1.
Character Models look better everytime they show a new trailer, they really are working on it. Yea, there's something weird about the faces, but there's still enough time to work on that stuff. The Pic i used could've been better too, was the first one i saw on Google. When you see her on your TV when the game is finished, it'll obviously be better.

Vulture is no C-Lister and Shocker is due as a second rate villain.
I have always found both Venom and Carnage rather dull.
Venom happened. They did a shitty Eddie Brock though.
Carnage is dull which is why he needs to be paired with a more interesting villain to work. Original Venom Eddie Brock was pretty good. Then he became an anti-hero, got over exposed, and became kind of dull. Then Flash Venom happened and he became awesome again.
Vulture is a C-lister in terms of Spidey rogues. I'd put him below Mysterio.

Have you only played MK9? Their female models changed drastically in X/Injustice
But back on topic, I'd vote Johnny Cage if Boost Gold is also in it.

I voted for the right choices: Johnny Cage and Hellboy, especially since it doesn't look like we're ever getting HB3.

Also...Ron Perlman voiced Strykerin the Mortal Kombat cartoon.
Holy shit you hit the nail on the head. Carnage is one of my least favorite Spider-Man villains and Spawn is an overrated edge lord. Will gladly take Hellboy over him

Well then, that's what I get going for the cheap shot.
I played X, I just honestly couldn't remember how the models looked since it's been over a year since I did play it.
I voted for Sub-zero and Hellboy, because the former is an obvious winner and the latter for fanboy reasons.
But, if I was able to choose another character to try and put in, it would be the green or white ranger. I think it would be awesome to see either of those in a fighting game like this.
Also, does anybody know if these guest characters will have the upgrade system like the rest of the characters?

I highly doubt Arnold would voice a character in a fighting video game. It would likely be a generic Terminator.

Voted Buffy and Raiden. I'd lose my goddamn mind if Buffy made it in, Gellar voice acting and all.

For the other, Hellboy and Spawn would both be great and pretty fitting. My vote is for HB. Probably going to be Spawn though. I don't think I'll ever quite understand how that character made it out of the 90s, or how he has such devoted fans today.

Why not all of them? I mean, they could all fit the tone of the game. Would play as any of them to be fair. Toss up between Spawn/Hellboy and Johnny for me.

The best choice is Hellboy which means it won't be him.
I'd really only take Venom if they make him like the first appearance where he's a really creepy stalker type villain. Even them, I'd just want one movie of him. I much prefer the other villains.

This is a game for BATTLE ACTION ARMOR action figures. Spawn's had hundreds of figures that jive with that approach. Hellboy, not so much.

I'm curious as to how many guest characters we'll see overall. MK9 had two (Kratos, Freddy), Injustice had one (Scorpion), MKX had four (Jason, Predator, Xenomorph, Leatherface). Assuming this is a pattern, and looking at this poll, that would suggest two for Injustice 2. But I wonder if we might get more. Limiting to these poll options, I think Sub-Zero, Spawn, Hellboy and Buffy would be an almost ideal selection. But if we were to get four guests out of these eight options, it would probably be something like Sub-Zero, Raiden/Johnny Cage, Spawn, and one of the three remaining non-MK options.
For those complaining about guest characters, they tend to be the highest selling DLC characters. Scorpion was the most popular DLC char in the first game. Guest characters are here to stay, unfortunately.
