Injustice 2 - The Lines Are Redrawn

FGaVVTD.png

Flash's new suit. Pretty bad.

It's miles better than the Injustice 1 outfit, which admittedly isn't saying a whole hell of a lot.

I'm hoping 9 edition also fighters doesn't consist of skin and dialogue changes to make standard characters into "new" ones with the same skill set like those delux edition ones.

No they are fully fledged out new characters and not skins.

Skins are separate listed.

Maybe swamp thing is a variant of Bane?
Nah, that wouldn't make any sense at all. Flash/Zoom, Supergirl/Power Girl, and Hal/John all have the same (or very similar) abilities, whereas Bane is a pro wrestler high on Venom and Swamp Thing controls plant life. Their only similarity is that they're big and strong.

Swamp Thing would be an alternate of Poison Ivy if anything.

A little Bat heavy but he is the money maker.

Darkseid, Brainiac, and Grodd are some killer villains. Plus, Captain Cold and Joker are likely in.

As a Hawk Girl and Grundy main in Injustice 1, I am getting worried I'll have to start over. Hawgirl's potential build is so unique, I'm not sure who could replicate it if shes not in.

Of course it will. But it happens for literally every game that receives a continuous stream of DLC and it's not a constructive thing to say in threads for those games either.

I find it perfectly constructive to state as many times as necessary that I'm unwilling to pay $60 for 3/4 of a game and then X more money to get the rest of the game piecemeal. I want all the content on the disc Day 1 at a reasonable price. Instead of dismissing it as a shitpost, why not state why you disagree? And if people don't disagree, I encourage people to vote with their wallets as I do and not passively accept this shitty business practice.

That wouldn't work either. Swamp Thing is most likely a standalone character. He's waaaaay bigger than Poison Ivy, whose animations will probably be somewhat seductive. A tiny, sexualized Swamp Thing would be hilarious.

yeah but I mean, it's Superman...it's like hitting a rockwall with a cotton swab.

I stopped trying to apply logic to the DC universe years ago haha

Meh, I think your post was a valid point and I do agree that all this DLC stuff is getting out of hand now.

However - I'd rather buy the vanilla game and enjoy it as soon as it's out and just forego all the DLC than wait even longer to play it with all the DLC added.

The fact that premium skins exist again means that there's potential for a lot of DC characters to make it in, even if they're only palette swaps.

Also, "The Society"? I wonder if that's Grodd's angle in this story.

I am sure this game will be good, and I am interested in it. But there's so much nickel and diming going on. And you know there will be a complete version anyways. I don't get why anyone would buy this day 1 between 9 dlc characters, 3 (possibly more) variant character skins, and a pre order only character.

Before you buy that Ultimate Edition to get all the DLC characters, remember that two of them will be Spawn and Sub-Zero.

Online community/competitive play.

I want to be interested in this game but Injustice soured me. Game just felt janky and linking attacks is so much worse than something like Street Fighter, Tekken, or DOA. It didn't feel fluid at all. I hope they release a demo.

So CGI trailer like people feared, and new character reveal next week. lol

Lmao at that Ultimate Edition. No way there's only 9 DLC characters when all is said and done.

Because people actually play the game to play against other people, and don't want to wait over a year for that?

I get the sentiment, but if you wanted "all the DLC" day one, that day one would be sometime in 2018. It's not realistic. When developing a game there is a roadmap, and you have to cap the content at some point to meet a release window or the game will never release.

Fighting games now get support over multiple years, which includes balance updates. That requires money/staff, and new content helps that. That also keeps the game alive for the people that actively play the game online and want a long, sustained userbase. I'm happy they cater to those people rather than those who might typically just buy a "complete" game, mess around with it for a while, then dump it in their backlog.

That's fine, but just don't be surprised when they keep dissecting the games further and further. When people accept this, these companies just say to themselves "let's see how much more they'll accept" and they'll keep siphoning until the blowback is so great they can't ignore it. I'd prefer that blowback to happen now and not X years from now when god knows what these companies will be able to convince people an acceptable standard for a $60 game is.

True, he/she isn't wrong. But it's also he/she's first and last post in the thread.

Look harder.
