I'm not even interested in Madden but the game looks really great. It even looks better than half of Nintendo's Wii games. How people are saying it looks like a GCN game with such better lighting, 60 fps with 480p and 16:9 widescreen, higher texture quality in many regards, shadowing that actually overlaps... and tons of other minor detail they talk about is mindbloggling to me. It's like people are expecting it to look like the 360 version.

In the Wii version of Madden, not only is there a brand new control scheme, but every team will have at least one player with superpowers, such as the ability to phase oneself through other players.

Anyone who plays football knows that it's not improbable to throw 30+ passes a game. That's alot of repitition in the space of 35 minutes. It may not sound like much, but that's alot of wiggling when simply pressing a button will do.

As far as I'm concerned, there is no debate. I made the choice for traditional control by buying the cube version.

Thats's not fair. The 360 version took shit because EA lied about how good the game would look. And again, no negative impressions so far but keep calling it wacky if you want.

It's obvious they put effort into upgrading all the textures and the lighting. And getting the game to run at 60fps even when in 16:9 and running in 480p.

Now on the $199 (probably) GCturbolol, we have a game that looks suitably better than the GC/Xbox versions. Hence people are satisfied. Wii games are never going to look as good as their x360/ps3 counterparts, so what's the point in bitching? Is the downward leap so great that Madden Wii is going to be unplayable? No it ain't. Have you even played in Superstar mode on the PS2, or any other mode which has a zoomed in camera? It's ****ing hideous, especially on larger TVs, and it lacks 480p (which, as an aside, is completely bewildering). Going by these screens, the Wii version doesn't resemble the blurry cluster**** spit out by the PS2 version as you've suggested.

About as much effort between the Xbox and PS2 version, its still using the SAME engine, and it still doesn't look that great at all compared to the 360/PS3 versions. But I'm sure wii fans don't care aobut the intricacies, accuracy, or realism of their football game, rather they just want to "throw teh ball with teh wiimote11" INNOVATEVE!!!

Madden 06 360 ("first" next gen madden) should never have been released. It was an incomplete game, which ea was currently working on as a completely brand new ground up experience. It really shouldn't even be considered the first madden, since it wasn't a finished game.

Madden 07 360 is the first real next gen Madden.
