2 pages and this thread is already ruined. This game looks GOOD for Wii. It's obviously better looking than the Xbox version, and it flows better too (from teh videos we have of it). And the controls sound GREAT.

This thread did still better than the similar thread on IGN... it took about 2 posts to ruin the whole shit. And on the 4th page, people were talking about normal mapping with no mention of the game at all... :lol

(I don't have interest in this game at all, I'm just interested to read about the new control system and stuff.)

If this is an example for the next five years of Wii threads, I might as well stop coming to the gaming forum entirely.

Sure it looks like shit compared to Sony and Microsoft's supercomputers, but it might actually be fun to some people who haven't bothered playing virtually the same game every year. What's wrong with being excited about a new way to play an old game? Others are satisfied with the traditional controls and just want a game that looks stunning? Good, let them enjoy Madden 2007 on Xbox360.

It's idiotic no matter when it happens. It's stupid in 360/PS3 threads because, seriously, quite a few of the games people complain about actually look really good. (Who gives a **** about one isolated texture in the corner of some screenshot?? I mean, honestly.) It's stupid in Wii threads because YES WE KNOW. We don't need forty thousand people pointing out that the vast majority of the system's games are not even close to on par with 360/PS3.

It's making this forum really painful to read. It's the opposite of interesting, compelling, or useful. I enjoy browsing GAF but holy shit, I hope this stuff starts to taper off. I would hope that the launch of PS3 and Wii will cause people to let up, but 360 launched a year ago and this crap is still going nearly full steam on that system as well.

I guess I find it more than a little hilarious (ironic? hypocritical? bullshit?) that 360 Madden took shit for its graphics being "barely next-gen" at first which are a thousand times better than this and this is the standard now for "much better than GCN/pleasantly surprised/etc", but I suppose that's the type of thing we can expect. And then of course the sideliners with their eyes wide open in PR-ish fashion buying Madden for the very first time.

That's it. The WiiConnect24 feature of Megaton has to be some kinda server ability that in conjunction with gamespy allows you to set up your own online games (and saves your friend codes in memory, taking the responsibility of your safety out of Nintendo's hands).

Or at least that's what I hope. Soothsayer? We'll find out tonight, I guess.

Definitely digging the whole "fake button" idea with the B trigger. Hard counts become a valid strategy in multiplayer, and the idea of play selection with the B trigger to confuse your opponents is genius.
