You're still puttting pressure on the connector in the controller. It's a stupid flawed design, it's made to break either the internal controller connector or the cable. Everyone has figured out how to avoid this, Sony is basking in it.

Looks like the button/stick placement is unchanged but the shape of the controller is adopting a style more akin to the Pro Controller/Xbox Controller. The color schemes are doing it no favors in terms of looks.
