Ion Fury Game Content Will Not Be Censored

The meltdown that is happening over this is hilarious to see, don't ever show these people an episode of South Park or anything from the 90s.

They still donated too for those wondering

The only people upset about this are the crazies.

Good. Developers should choose the content of their games, not cults. If you don't like it, don't buy it. I'll buy a copy just to counterbalance one of the lunatics over the asylum.

Too late, not buying it. Only reason why they are not now is because they saw the review bombs on Steam. They still think the same way.
You know you just sound like the loony squad on ERA now? Be better than that. This is the only way we can prevent something like this happening in the future in the first place.

I changed my review to a recommend. No regrets.

3DRealms & Voidpoint have now found out the hard way that kowtowing to a tiny, screeching, irrelevant group of insane, unemployed trannies instead of your actual customers doesn't make much financial sense

Hopefully other companies (and not just in the gaming industry) get the wake up call as well

Voidpoint's twitter is on fire at the moment
The beginning of the backswing! Fingers crossed that they keep going and double down as hard as possible, the mess that 3DR dumped on them may yet be salvaged.

How long until Schreier rocks up and starts pulling character assassination gotchas from his magic bag of tricks?

They still donated too for those wondering

They were pressured into donating in order to appease the screaming nutters at Era. Good cause or no, the game and studio have lost out on $10k of revenue (give or take for tax deductibility) in addition to the losses from both the Iron Maiden lawsuit and two-way 4chan-instigated backlash from SJWs and genuine customers.

It's not entirely unreasonable to hope that the whole messy shebang is rolled back to as close to square one as possible in order to give the game the shot it deserved. Dismissing that whole-cloth as 'the crazies' with a framing of "lookit these angry people" is crazy in and of itself.

That's a great response to the person who asked if they're keeping the donation. I'm happy to hear that.

I love how ResetEra is now the face of their shitty movement, not Twitter bluechecks or ""mainstream"" gaming sites like Kotaku. Any sane person can take a look at ResetEra and see that it's not worth it to bend over that crowd's demands. This is a decent win and could mean other publishers will do the same.

The only problem now is I feel that media which previously wrote about this won't mention the "apology" apology and people who left negative reviews won't know about the turnaround.

I feel the devs felt this way from the start and it seems it was 3D realms forcing them. Voidpoint must have convinced 3D realms to let them do what they want. Good on them because Ion Fury is my personal goty 2019 and has been since before this whole controversy shit.

Got an archived link so I don't have to give them clicks?

Well, I mean.... it probably was. The response to their capitulating to Resetera was pretty loud.

Not really. There was probably a small element of it but if you read the responses and the reporting, it looks as though they've sat down together with 3DR realised they've made a knee jerk reaction that escalated on social media and rolled part of it back. Because the humour and culture of the time was a part of the throwback the game was always meant to be. They also consulted independent LGBT people about how 'hurtful' or 'offensive' the actual in game assets were and the answer was unequivocally 'not at all'.

The argument was never about the assets. They apologised for the misguided chat in the discord and made a donation to the charity. But even so, surely there would be a counter article on review bombs forces developers to remove assets?

Edit: I dont mean to call you out or anything - it's just a matter of perspective. The headline clearly incites trouble then they drop a 'we reached out for comment' but didnt have one but published anyway. Not one quote or piece of evidence to back up the clickbait headline. This is everything that's wrong with games journalism. And it has taken all the lessons from the sleazy mainstream media and red tops.

And hereby i will revoke what i wrote earlier and grab a copy after i get paid.
Thank you for coming to your senses, great to hear that the sensitivity training was nothing more than "yo, proof read before you post or else someone may go REEE". I just hope that the 10k payment is still happening, as it wouldn't be wise to step back on that.

Suck it REEE's, you've been finally BTFO'd, and partially by GAF.

They confirmed on Twitter that it's still going ahead.

And yeah, in the big picture it would likely just be more bad PR to add to the pile.

REEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Literally their 1st post.

Once again, why do Publishers/Developers keep bending backwards and licking SJW feet, when SJW's aren't even the core market for games?

It's fucking bizarre.

You wont ever satisfy them. Nothing does.

I love how the developers are donating $10,000 to an lgbt charity and yet they are still being called homophobic. Ogay is totally more damaging to the gay communinity than $10K right? I bet most of the people on Resetera haven't even given a cent. I'm starting to learn that these people don't even care about the groups they claim to fight for and just want to feel powerful.
