Is Almond Milk that much better than regular milk?

For men out there you may want to watch how much you drink as it can raise estrogen levels

Edit- oh wait I read this for some bizarre reason as Soy milk nvm

I actually liked Almond milk decently. It had the same basic consistency of milk, but just a bit of a nutty taste to it. Soy was terrible.

And ethically speaking, drinking cow milk is worse than eating hamburgers. They have to keep impregnating female cows to keep their udders running, keep separating them from their young because the milk needs to go to the humans, and shipping the young off to the veal house.

Eh you need to impregnate cows to produce hamburgers as well, and modern dairy cows produce a ridiculous amount of milk. The beef and dairy industries are completely codependent

Cows milk is truly disgusting though. Never liked the taste or consistently. Plus it makes me feel like crap.

Plant milk anyway of the week. But I prefer soy

Almond milk is not a substitute for people who like milk. It's a sweet drink that tastes nothing like milk.

Almond milk is gross. Soy milk is where it's at.

God tier

Almond milk is fucking horrible. If I have to use some alternative it's gotta be soy, but not one with too much sugar.

Soy, rice, coconut, almond, cashew ($), macadamia ($$$)

All taste great. The fact that people want to suck a cow teet their whole life sounds like a 4 year old perception of the food palate.

Typing something like this says a lot more about you than it does about people who drink milk. Grow up jefe.

I've been trying to slim down for a while now and so I've been going through my daily food choices looking at what I can change. I've noticed that I'll often have a glass of (2%) milk with whatever I cook for dinner.

Now I realize that cutting it out altogether and switching purely to water would be the best choice, but there is a certain full-ness I get whenever I wash down a dinner with a glass of milk that lasts through the rest of the night. At this time I'd rather stick with the milk but I'm looking at other alternatives to cow milk and I've heard Almond milk is a much better choice due to having much less saturated fat than regular milk. So that's got me thinking, is Almond milk that much better in nutrition or should I be looking at a different kind of milk?

You can have fat free/skim milk and enjoy the lower calories if you want. Almond milk is just nasty compared to normal cows milk, no matter how much unsweetened or vanilla or other flavors and textures they come up with. Only time I have almond milk is for a few weeks of zero to low carb keto style diets. And only begrudgingly. It is great for lactose intolerant and vegans but nothing beats regular milk.

Almond milk is better because it has zero sugar, which is what makes you fat.

Saturated fat doesn't make you fat, sugar does.

Get the unsweetened vanilla one, and add a few squirts of liquid stevia/sucralose and mix. It's delicious and is similar tasting to milk.

THIS so fucking much.

Everyone seems to think that fat and calories are what makes them fat. Milk has lactose which is a sugar, which is a carbohydrate, which is what gets stored in your body as fat.

Are you an infant? If the answer is no then you should stop drinking milk and fake milk. People will argue about this but there is little to no reason for people to drink calories.

We have been manipulated.

It's not bad but I wouldn't put it in my coffee. I only drink it because regular milk gives me digestive issues.

the fk? it's full of sugar. read the nutritional information. it's printed on the packaging.

fat from milk isn't going to kill you. the sugar from almond milk has a higher chance of it though.

the answer is in your post : drink the water instead

I did almond milk for a while but only certain brands. I've grown to really like flax milk though. That's been my go to for a while.

For a lot of my cooking it doesn't replace traditional milk. That being said, I don't mind it at all for cereal and such. But for eggs and the like, it's a nono.

I lost 50 pounds eating meals with white rice, bread, and full cream milk every day. Also had real sugar in my 5 cups of tea a day. I set a calorie target to lose weight and made sure I hit it every day. Easiest diet I've ever done.

I've got nothing against folk who prefer low carb/low sugar etc. Those diets work very well for people who don't mind cutting out food groups. But straight calorie counting definitely works for weight loss.

I've yet to find a commercial almond milk that's not just diluted water, but the homemade stuff can be wonderful.

Else, I'd definitely go for oat milk. Soy is fine, too, but oat is where it's at.

Almond milk is really, really bad for the environment. Uses lies of water to grow the almonds and then more to turn it into milk at the end.

Raisin Bran in my bowl with bananas and some almond milk
I never thought I'd see the day I'm drinking almond milk

If you are concerned with water usage, soy is easily the best, but almond milk is still better than dairy milk. And dairy is significantly worse for greenhouse gases.

Anything that tries to be milk but isn't milk is generally rancid.

Gaf told me that milk, whether it's cow, soy, almond or whatever milk, is pure filth.

FILTH!

You should only be drinking water. And no less than 3 gallons a day.

Stevia and sucralose taste like poison, though, so nope.

If you want almond milk do yourself a favour and make it yourself with almond paste. Half of the already made almond milk are trash.
