If they are unimportant and don't matter, why are these things here in the first place? What you mean you never see? Did the car drives away by itself? Its purposely made so people can see your character(which is probably the entire idea behind it).

I will just wait till 50% sale mine usual. FH5 was way too annoying with this crap and it looks like they ramped it up even more.

I really do not understand why so many of you are up in arms about options you do not have to choose. Let's look at the facts:
  • People who have preferred genders outside of what they were assigned at birth exists. You do not have to agree or you can find it immoral or whatever you have against this, but the reality is they exist.
  • There are people in the world who has prosthetic limbs. I am not sure why anyone would be upset about this being an option, but hey these people actually exist in the real world.
  • PlayGround games wanted to provide the players the ability to create an avatar in Horizon 6 that represents the player within the game world. Rather or not you find that relevant to a car game, does not matter. It is what PlayGround has done for several games now, allowing you to view your avatar celebrate a win, see them from the car view, and more.
  • PlayGround, wanting to allow the player creation tool reflect as many people as possible, included options when it comes to gender representation and prosthetic limbs. If you are part of one of these groups of people, I am sure they are happy they have some sort of representation and allows them to make an avatar that reflects them more accurately, if they choose to do so.

Why would this be an issue with anyone? If you do not want to use the options, then don't. It is that simple. Or if you want, use them and make an avatar how you see fit. Want a dude that wear skirts and have no arms, go for it. Want to make a girl who sounds like a male but still wears feminine clothing. It is your option.

How does this remove anything from the game? I can understand people being upset if you are forced to make a transgender character or a character with missing limbs. But you are not forced. Nothing has been removed. You can still make a non-trans, all limbed avatar. So why are you mad with the options?

You aren't mad about different hair styles.
You aren't mad about different skin tones.
Why be mad about this?

I personally would like to see the avatar creation with more options for body types so I recreate my chubby ass more closely in the game. But oh well. Again, they have never had this before, so nothing has been taken away from me, but I would like it as an option.

I understand getting upset on things that are taken away, but to get mad over something that is optional and does not remove anything from you, I do not get it. I just don't and won't.

UK studio doing UK things, it's not shocking. But also.. The character avatar in this car game is barely visible, barely involved and just exists to occasionally stand next to the car in cutscenes and victories.

If this bothers you, I get it, it's super silly. But it really doesn't matter in the moment to moment gameplay. Like who is playing Forza for the compelling character story?

Fable on the other hand might be in for a rude awakening
 
am i the only gamer who's never even once tried to create a custom avatar that looked like me? i've never really wanted to see myself running around in a video game, ever...

The game seeks to make me complicit in enabling this insanity in society by obliging me to play along with it. I prefer not to and the game gives me no option not to, and thus the only option for my preference being met is to not buy the game at all, which is an option I'm typically fine with.

I can assure you, I am not able to create me in this character creator. The default character are even more fuck ugly than me. I am so tired of the "it is just an option for inclusivity" while they go out of their way to exclude me, a boring middle aged guy. I also do not announce my pronouns or refer to my body as some genderless type. This is not some option so much as pandering to gender confused individuals.

I never understood the whole "self insert" thing people do with games. I generally make characters I think look cool, male or female and wear gear that is similar, but the whole "digital centerfold" is not a dude thing, it's just a people thing. In fact, women are worse. You could watch 100 men play a game and 100 women, and without fail more women would have their characters dressed like prostitutes than the reverse.

I think you are missing the point. People of all genders make cool or attractive characters, but there is a pretty big difference between someone designing a stylized, fashionable character and the specific excuse of 'I just want to stare at a hot girl's backside for 80 hours

One is just making a cool avatar, the other is treating the game like a simulator

I do not think anybody expects this game to perform poorly. It is a pre-existing IP with a retarded character creator. Most will roll their eyes and move past it. I would not expect much more DEI than that. I can only say that I expected it and I will either wait for a sale or not even buy it. So maybe sales have been somewhat affected. If MS is willing to lose 5% sales for this, good on them.

I think a lot of you are younger and it has been crammed down your throat while you were younger and more impressionable and it doesn't bother you. You have a high tolerance and you also do not remember when games did not have it. Or you have forgotten the good days.

Anytime I play an older game or watch an older show/movie, it is almost jarring to see how far we have fallen. Shit now is so insanely censored, sanitized, and pumped full of forced agenda messaging it really sucks most of the fun out of everything. Oh but the graphics and gameplay are still good. That is not enough of a compelling reason to shell out a ton of money and more importantly, my limited time, to play a new game. Best I can do for most AAA games is wait for a steep sale or simply just pass on it. I used to love the Horizon games and purchased a wheel and everything to get more enjoyment from them. But they keep making the game less fun and more cringe and to be honest, I would rather boot up the first Horizon game and play that again than play this latest game.

In summary, it really is woke slop. If you don't believe me, then boot up the first game and compare it to FH6. After comparing the two, tell me how this latest game is not slop. Play any older game from 2015 or earlier and compare it to what we get now. Almost every game that comes out today is slop compared to what was released 10 years ago.

In fairness, the characters are less than 1% of the actual game. If you are a arcade racing fan at all this game is still worth it and I'm strongly, strongly, against putting this crap in games.

I have played them all. The showcases were based on reality, like racing a speeding train or airplane. Not a mech from a cartoon. May as well let me race around the world as Mario or Yoshi.
