How is that at all related to what I said?
Explain.
You said a "southern" thing. I'M saying it's just a thing. Observe, if you will, how many Latin folks that will come in here and tell you it's normal..in their language..get it? Papi means daddy..in case it's lost on you..
I just call my dad dad, or pops if I'm being cheeky.

What about mommy?
I feel like this one doesn't require explanationExplain.
Try calling him "Pater," as I was instructed to do.
tumblr ruined the word "daddy."
Ehhhh not really. My dad actually calls me (his son) daddy sometimes. It's a term of affection
Wives calling husbands "father " is weird and yet it will be defended by someone denying that it is weird. Failing to recognize that they themselves are weird.
Maybe I've had a little too much to drink (waiting out this hurricane in FL) but I have no idea what the hell you're talking about. All I've said is that many southern folk will still refer to their fathers as 'daddy' into adulthood and no one will bat an eye. So hispanics still call their dads 'Papi'?? Mmmk? I'm not even sure I believe that.
I love you, dear pater familiasTry calling him "Pater," as I was instructed to do.
I don't think I've EVER called her mommy. Ma and mom. Mama once in a blue moon when I'm trying to get her attention.
Might just be our weird family. Neither of my parents are the super affectionate type. And being honest except for our oldest sister (and she can have a mean streak) neither are their kids.
From toddler to like 11 I called my mom "mommy" and then switched to mom
I call my dad papi sometimes but that's 'cus I'm Mexican and papi doesn't seem weird to me but I wouldn't call him daddy 'cus the internet ruined daddy.

like girl im sorry your dad left you when you were seven but i am not a replacement for all those lost years.
I've always called my parents by their first names. Both of my sisters called them mom/dad, but for whatever reason, I've just never been comfortable using a general title to address my parents. To their credit, they just went with it.
