No point in rushing anything when your direct competitor has yet to announce their new console
Sonys meeting event was kind of pointless. The general public has no interest or knowledge of the ps4 right now and all the event did was confirm the rumors the hardcore where already talking about on forums. It really did little for sony long term. That said annoucing your product early means nothing. It's the time between your launch and the competitions launch that matters and until microsoft shows it's secrets we have no idea if sony even has a headstart.
With Microsoft's first party in complete shambles, whatever they show will be trivial to counter and bury.
Uh, YT video has 28m views?
It's certainly not something you can take for granted. See wiiU, Vita.Is it really a surprise that new tech gets social media buzzing. It will be the same when MS finally reveals their system as well.
And until we know prices and release dates it's all talk.
Who the hell watches the same videos over and over? And you're pretty much describing what Sony is doing, as there's no real difference between Feb and April. Are they smart too or does that not fit your narrative?unique hits are a fraction of that due to the way youtube counts hits.
E3 get more mainstream news reporting. Microsoft might be smart in waiting depending on what they do. If they focus mainly on the hardcore in april, then more rounded at E3 and drip feed smart advertising until the rolling thunder begins before launch they could have massive appeal. All sony did is get a short soike in interest.

Didn't Sony Meeting announce the new controller? I remember the controller reveal being pretty megaton. I was surprised by it.
And no way could Sony keep the spotlight wire-to-wire. Big Microsoft reveals are going to generate a news shift.
I think it was clever for Sony to show everything but the form-factor. That way they can have their big event, and then after MS' big event Sony can show the box and steal back a little thunder.
It's hard to say what role timing plays in everything. I bet MS (if they could get a re-do) would rather have had the 360 delayed six months if it meant low failure rates. That was probably what hurt them the most. Not reveals, not release dates, not even price.
Watching Sony makes me acutely aware of how badly Nintendo fucked up the WiiU.
The MS show will definitley be "home entertainment hub-by" with "kinect" prominently featured. so its going to be YMMV with how gamers take to it.
I disagree. We have seen and heard news about PS4 all this month and we have already more than 20 games announced for the console, including -most certainly- some important exclusives like Final Fantasy XV.
And next week we'll have the Game Developers Conference, where we will have a lot of importante news... Battlefield 4, The Phantom Pain, etc... and every release will have the PS4 logo on it.
They need to prepare a GREAT show for the E3, with some important things like the console itself, more games (the new Naughty Dog one as a top priority) and maybe the price.
Microsoft? I think they are losing time. They even have denied some very bad rumours... most certainly because they are not rumours.
And even if they launch Durango on april, I think Sony will have the advantage of three months working on the E3 show.
And I have said it before... I can bet Microsoft won't launch his console before E3 because:
* They have nothing really superior to PS4 to show...
* They are not really sure if they can launch the console this year... my bet: Q1 2014.
Did you even bother to think about what you're writing before you posted this or

Out of curiousity, which posts did not make sense at all?One of the few people in this thread making clear sense out of the topic. Some of the posts in here have been beyond nonsensical.
