Steam at home, and Switch on the go.
Sold my PS4. Feels good, honestly. #fuckabacklog
Nintendo fans need to calm down about The Switch. It's a success yes, but it's not suddenly going to catapult Nintendo to #1.
It is quite annoying to see many "unnecessary" Switch threads (DAE, Is Switch...etc). We get it, the Switch is doing well, but let's wait a year or two from now.
At the moment, I'm waiting for a "play in spurts" game. MK8 is okay, but I can never connect online and 3 laps is too long for me. I've never tried Splatoon, but I'll wait for reviews.
IMO A casual gamer can pick up a Switch and have it be there main or only console much like what happened with the Wii. I consider myself harcore and own most if not all the consoles and PC. I dont ride the bus or train and i perfer not to carry another device around. That being said I would never consider to have switch as my main system. PS and Xbox/PC are always going to have better versions of multplats and Online services that i enjoy. Switch has some amazing 1st party titles like Loz Botw, Mario Kart 8 and more to come but a hardcore gamer IMO will need more.

Maybe you should read a thread before posting in it.I haven't noticed any such trend of people stopping playing PS4/XBone to play on Switch, but maybe these people are hardcore Nintendo fans who were forced to play more on other consoles last year or so because there was fuck-all coming out on Wii U for like a year leading up to the Switch.

The only gamers I see the Switch being their main console is hardcore Nintendo fans. It just wouldn't make sense to use the console unless it's for the first party games.
I have a PS4 but haven't touched it since I got it, my brother has pretty much claimed it at this point, the Switch is my main system and I couldn't be happier. If the PS4 was portable I'd actually play it.
Is this a meme parody? Or are you 12?
Here you guys have an example:
I have seen literally no evidence of this at all. Are you creating some kind of weird narrative here or have I missed a ton of posts by people abandoning hardware? But what's been even more bizarre is the frequent number of posters amongst here or elsewhere who have stopped gaming on PS4, Xbone, etc. and started played exclusively on Switch. Why could that be?
I can only assume that he likes it for the portability maybe? How a PS4 sits around unplayed while the Switch gets all the action is something I can't comprehend lol. But hey, to each their own.

You think a hardcore gamer is going to main a system without major third party games? Destiny, Wolfenstein, Anthem, AC: Origins, NFS Payback, Evil Within, Overwatch, Diablo, Prey,(borrowed list from poster above) are a lot of big titles that wont be on Switch. So yes IMO a hardcore gamer wont be using Switch as a main console. Don't take offense
What's this supposed to show? I don't take this thread as any evidence of people abandoning PS4/X1 for a Switch. Here you guys have an example:
Yeah thanks, I had a quick scroll through after posting and saw a couple. I can see how some people may prefer it, especially for those that want the portability aspect or travel a lot it could become their main system. I haven't seen enough declarations it seems worth a thread but I'm not in a lot of Switch threads so could be why. It's not just the portability but the convenience of playing your games where, when and how you want.
There are many examples in this very thread, one just a few posts up. Of course there's no statistical evidence of what the OP is claiming though.
The problem is your apparent idea of what a 'hardcore' gamer is.
