Is the Hulk the cheapest comic book superhero ever?

Well, these writers are just insane. I think I'd prefer it if characters only had one power. Why can't Flash just run fast. Why does he have to time travel or control molecules or travel into other dimensions? I'm thinking simple stuff like Cyclops eye beams would be enough. I looked up Cyclops on Wikipedia and his abilities list is simply:

Then I looked up his little brother Vulcan whose abilities list consists of:

I don't even know what half of that stuff is. Also what the heck is "Intuitive spatial geometry?"

I think Flashs other abilities are byproducts of his super speed.

Also, intuitive spacial geometry means Scott has an amazing grasp on the geometry around him. For instance, he can figure out where his optic blasts will go if he reflects it off of a surface.

It's basically just BS made up so that he can ricochet his optic blasts off like a dozen surfaces and know exactly where it'll end up instantly, because he just knows...intuitively

It's the same crap like how most super villians have genius level intellect for some reason. OKAY...

Why wouldn't his optic blasts destroy the objects that he's ricocheting them off?

He intuitively knows which ones contain trace amounts of ruby quartz.

Actually, his beams are "force" beams, they don't automatically wreck everything, they just push on them. He could bounce a weak beam off a stable, massive surface and knock somebody out, for instance.

Superman-Prime/Superman 1 Million is pretty damn gods-tier but I wonder if Time Trapper Superboy-Prime is more powerful.

The only reason he was defeated was because he punched himself :P

I'm kind of interested in the psychological aspect of it all. What goes on in a person who creates a being in his fantasy that he declares "invincible"? In what kind of state of mind do you have to be to have the desire for such over the top strength? What does it compensate for?
And what about the people who make these characters successful? Who goes out and buys the story of an invincible super-being he knows won't be defeated? I cannot help but to think it's people with severe shortcomings who want to hulk it out.
Looking back I only had a few comics, mostly Spider-Man. I liked his speed and ability to evade things in a kind of rigid world. He also hung around alone which I think must had an effect on me. Other than that I grew tired of the status quo world everything consisted of.

You're not very good at this psychology thing.

So wouldn't the optic blasts bounce off bodies as well?

This is where I leave...Someone needs to make an "It's comics dude" image for these types of questions

>_>

I would just like to see Cyclops fight inside a small room and see a bunch of his eye beams bounce all over the place. It reminds me of making a square level in Brawl and playing super sudden death, so we bounce all over the walls.

I love Hulk, he's such a wild card. I like that in the right mindset, nobody knows where Hulk's power ends, including standing up to some freakishly strong cosmic types. Anyway, this has turned into a pretty good thread. I'm all over that Gladiator & co. team of superheroes, first I've heard of that comic.

On the cheap side of things, my pick is probably Thor. He's so much stronger than the group he's a part of. He shouldn't even be threatened ever, and there's no drama in that. That is unless Loki tricks him, which has been reused time and time again. I don't like seeing these supreme beings though, have the intelligence of a 3rd grader. Reading some Silver Surfer comics is unbearable, the fate of universes being played out in childlike fashion.

well you know, blind idiot gods and all that....

So who wins Hulk or Superman (most powerful version of each)? This is a question that has started many geektastic debates.

Judging from the last page, Superman hands-down. He pretty much becomes God.

Superman can fly back in time and kill Hulk while he's BB.

The most powerful version of Superman would be tossing planets at Hulk like he's playing dodgeball

That was kind played out already in the Doomsday storyline.

Superman beat Hulk in DC vs Marvel

He beat Thor in JLA-Avengers
and then Mjolnir chose him screw you Thor

He traveled to the Marvel Universe because he wanted to, was granted the power cosmic and became the 2nd most powerful being in the Marvel Universe

OMGLOL @ Hercuthor

and aside from Superman-Prime/1 Million, Marvel Cosmic Superman, there's DC Cosmic Superman, which was not just meant to be the strongest in one universe, but can automatically adapt to win in a multiverse battle

also he has son with Wonder Woman from the Kingdom Come series*, who is the guardian of Hypertime

*Depends if you like The Kingdom as a sequel to Kingdom Come

There's nothing wrong with people wanting less "fantasy" and more "science-fiction" in their comic books.

Determined by a fan vote. Doesn't count. Wolverine beat Lobo in that for God's sake. Only reason Supes took out Lobo is because Lobo was drunk at the time.

He beat Thor in JLA-Avengers

And then later the hammer would not work for Supes. JLA/Avengers did a good job of catering to both crowds, as each side got a victory at some point.

And speaking of Lobo, let's add him to this discussion:

Yeah I know, I'm just poking fun :P

How can the Vs. crossover count when Spider-Man beat Superboy and Storm beat Wonder Woman

I think Wonder Woman was using Mjolnir in that fight ._.

I wonder if a Blue Lantern would beat Hulk

and Blue Lanterns are the weakest lanterns nyah nyah

<3 Saint Walker

and Hulk can be killed by a nuclear explosion

that's how Hulk killed the Maestro (himself) ;P

Maestro apparently survived but was severely weakened

Thor inherited the Odinforce and had apparently been holding back on earth for years before that. (He tore Iron Man apart, took down Red Hulk and would've killed him had Hulk not intervened etc.) Current version of Thor is near the top of the scale.
had regular Hulk not intervened by threatening that Thor would soon be witnessing the full power of Hulkamania.

And Hulk will keep on coming.

This has to be the most fun topic on GAF in a while. It has stayed mostly civil, and is a nice nerdfight.
Not unless he magically finds a path of asteroids/meteors to propel himself off. Supes will just whistle and hum to himself while backing off under his own steam and eye nuking as he goes.

LOL Wolverine must be a wizard

If Hulk keeps coming won't it just be Superman throwing random planets at him and nuking him but not really defeating him?

Well I just found a panel showing Superman Prime creating a Universe so... maybe he can just will him out of existence? lol

did no one mention how Gambit is quite possibly the most powerful mutant in existence? all he needs to do is think and blow up Hulk's cellular structure.

Okay now I'm getting a little bit mad at all this overpowered shit.

Wasn't that only a temporary ability?
