Is the Hulk the cheapest comic book superhero ever?

Well comics was a very broad (and sometimes horrific or violent) artform before they got hammered by censors in the 40s/50s.

But if you're talking about superhero comics, not much, in the mainstream anyways.

However, rape was the center of Identity Crisis, because after having learned the identities of certain superheroes, Dr. Light raped Sue Dibny. The Justice League mindwiped his knowledge, which turned him into a buffoon-type supervillain. Batman argued it was unethical and they mindwiped him too.

I was referring to the type of thing we've been discussing in this thread, yeah. Obviously comic books stretch beyond this kinda thing but that's by-the-by for the thread.

Anyway, Identity Crisis sounds crap. You can't mindwipe Batman ffs

I'm sure you're exaggerating for effect here, but I feel like asking: is rape really something that's in any way common in comics? Beyond Watchmen, obviously.

I was, but Dibney and Black Cat both had rape thrown in there for shock effect. A couple of others, too.

Just read the write-up on Wikipedia, at least they did the proper thing and had Batman figure out what had been wiped out his mind. Still, eff that ess

Age Of Apocalypse was awesome.

Exactly. It's fun pretending Batman could take out the combined DC and Marvel character bases, but he is just a man, and that's so fucking obvious when reading this thread and seeing the upper limits of everyone's powers.
You sound like a man who hasn't read "Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe"!

Ah yes, who can forget the time that girl raped Nightwing on the roof?

Solid writing that was.

I thought the same thing. But honestly, the Punisher taking out anybody with powers is ridiculous. He often almost dies at the hands of the type of people Moon Knight fucks up on the regular. He's the scariest thing to lowlife scum, but he's an old man who generally had other people do his prep time for him.

Mark Millars Wanted pretty much the same idea.

I hate that comic on a level I generally leave for bosses, people who key cars for fun and cucumbers.

the ending left me with a sour look on my face, and a general dislike for all things millar that arent red son. which is sad because it had a nice premise

since tony stark and bruce wayne shares some similarities. would bruce be a good iron man or better than stark and vice versa?

Hell no. That would be a disaster. Stark is a leader. Wayne is a loner.

The problem with Wayne as Iron Man is he has nowhere near the scientific mind Stark has. Stark has invented most of the technology behind Iron Man. Wayne is no slouch--and obviously has the money--but not gifted in the same way. Stark could never be Batman because he's not as good a detective or strategist. Stark's attitude is go big or go home. Wayne comes out at night, hides in the shadows, sets traps for his opponents to fall into.

John Stewart is purple now? Please tell me he's still making guns and shit out of purple energy.
Yeah. Kind of.

Spoilers for War of the Green Lanterns:
He takes the purple energy and combines it with the remnants of of the Black Lantern energy still inside Mogo, and makes an energy sniper rifle at Mogo's core and essentially HEADSHOTS THE PLANET.

Batman, Doom and Reed are the three prep gods who can beat anyone according to their fanboys if they have a couple hours of dat prep time.

The thing is, even without prep time, Doom could take on most characters easily. But with dat prep time, he is even scarier. Of course, once Doom won, he would get bored that no one would challenge him then move on to the next conquest.

Doom>all villains

So what happens if Batman ever goes rouge? The entire world/universe would basically be screwed, right?

I don't know if the world would be screwed, but Batman would look FABULOUS with a little rouge

Batman Beyond is probably the closest example to what I imagine an "Iron Man-like" Batman would be.

that doesn't matter, Slade is a metahuman and batman isn't. he's stronger, faster, more durable, fights just as well. Batman shouldn't be able to hang with him. he's basically a slighty lesser version of captain America. nothing cheap about it,
He has a healing factor. He's got a superior power set to a guy who's main claim to fame is peak human.

Deadpool > Cap.

did batman built his own cave, batmobiles, and gadgets. if he did, don't you think he's capable of building his own iron man suit?

how about this, if "the joker" was in iron man's universe. how far will he gets before iron man can capture him?

There's a pretty big gap between the Batmobile and the Iron Man suit.

He didn't build the cave, the cave was already under his house. And honestly how much brain power does it take to make a grappling hook and batshape boomarangs. Batman is smart, but not in the way Tony is. Batman has been shown numerous times stealing and adapting other peoples tech.

I don't think that bruce ever really build the batcave by himself and alfred. I mean the time and logistics alone would require a full team. Making sure the mountain doesn't collapse on you isn't a skill you pick up reading. Neither is having a fully functioning supercomputer and lab that isn't destroyed by bat guano and moisture. Alfred is busy with maintaining the house ans bruce just sulks, fights, and goes out at night so that cave is not touched by their hands.

Bat-prep time is just bull. I loved it when Superman beat the crap out of him and took out the team before Wonder Woman broke him out of mind control. It's one thing to strategize and take someone out after reasonable discrepancies in power, but supes and bats? No contest. If they are both going at it bruce died 10s ago with both gotham AND metropolis building statues in clarks image.

Also, Hulk is awesome.

well just an arc ago Dick was into parts of the batcave that had not been mapped yet.

The biggest problem is Regular Ass Batman and DC Crossover Batman. They're basically two different characters. The Batman detective who is in Year One and the Holiday Killer's stories doesn't even feel like the same guy who is in JL.

Well that settles that.

Even Aquaman's robot sucks ass. "It has a harpoon arm!"

...fuck off Arthur. Namor let you win that shit so you wouldn't be 0-12321344

Wow @ Magneto taking out Apocalypse.

I mean, I shouldn't be surprised, but I kinda am for some reason.

Hey, at least Arthur doesn't have ankle wings.

Just read the cracked article and smiled. I do kind of wish that before the reset happens at DC that they show the john doe workers punching in and fixing up the batcave just for the hell of it. The fandom would explode.
