Is there a reason why Euro Trucks and US Trucks look so different?

LOL

So Yurop-GAF and Yank-GAF decide to fight, over truck shapes? really? isn't there more important stuff to discuss?

It's so hilariously awesome.

Whether or not the validity of it what had me laughing the most was the bullet-ed list, the picture of Hitler and then the subsequent comparison of Hitler to bush.

Because we are the center of the world.

1) You don't find it ironic at all that you're posting on an American website where 90%+ of the users are American even though we only make up 4.5% of the world's population? I don't remember the last time I posted on or visited a let's say, French, website for example. The very act of you posting this reply justifies our narcissism.

2) The world's popular culture is dictated by Americans. You listen to our music and watch our movies. We don't watch or listen to yours.

3) When was the last time you saw a thread titled "Is there a reason why North American Trucks and Norwegian Trucks look so different?" or "Is there a reason why North American Trucks and The Netherlands Trucks look so different?" No? The OP just compared the USA, a country, with a whole continent. How is an American to not be utterly proud about that?

4) It's commonly considered winning the life lottery to be born an American.

5) We are the most successful, wealthiest, and best civilization in the history of mankind, the world, and the universe thus far. I think that's quite a feat and quite frankly something to be proud of.

I like this post...

This is frikin' embarrassing,

How about instead of wasting time on the Internets boasting about your grandfather's achievements in war, politics and industry.

You go out there and get a job and increase the value of your dollar so I don't have to be out of work in three months!!!!

You know what's really embarrassing? It took our entire banking system to collapse for that shit to catch up.

Fixed that for you.

Let's not also forget we are one tenth of your population brah!

Rarely read an entire thread that has more than 2-3 pages, but boy was this one worth it! The trolling in here made me :lol quite a bit.

Also, I like the Euro trucks better, but that doesn't mean Europe≥US, America all the way!

You ever ride down the highway in between two semi trucks? It's a strange feeling. You want to back away for fear of being sandwiched. Yet, at the same time, you find yourself wanting it to continue just a little longer. Sound is sort of muted, and you can only see what's directly in front of you. Like you're being guided to your goal by two guardian angles...

wow, what a strangely refreshing, offtopic post.

I'm not going to get into this debate, but I really really REALLY fucking hate patriotism. I never quite understood the idea of being proud of being born somewhere. Pride comes from an accomplishment. Being born somewhere isn't pride, it's luck. Be happy that you are born an american if you must, but don't act like it's an honor you deserve. Besides, as an extra irony, americans are all just immigrants from europe besides native Indians of course.

Second, I don't think posters like Lunchbox realize that the main reason that America is so invincible is purely and simply geography. America is a nation surrounded by water on 2 sides and doctile nations on the other two. Then, far more advance eupropeans land in america and claim it as their own from a nation of far less advanced indian tribes. America is essentially un-invadable because it maintains such a stronghold while still being technologically advanced than others. It's why they actually could fight off the british empire for their freedom. The Land. That's why you were allowed to advance as much as you were. You spawned on the best possible position on a totally broken map.

And what really grates me more than anything is the attitude about it all. Lunchbox's post says it all. Apparently, Europe never contributed anything to the world besides hitler and Stalin while America is the land of sunshine and dreams. The best part about that post is that America is solely responsible for defeating the Germans. Yes, they're assistance was important, but it's hardly like the Allies were doomed until the US got off it's ass.

Frankly, I believe that the world would be a much more interesting place if America didn't reign as a total superpower that control every facet of the world. And people like lunchbox act as if this is such an accomplishment by them personally because Americans are 'just better', when in reality its just dumb luck that allowed them a position of power, and then proceed to bolster their ego by focusing only on their achievements, and disregarding everyone elses. I really don't see how this is any better than a rich kid telling everyone how much better he is because he was born into a rich family. Yes, the US is in first place in most things, I admit that, but that doesn't make America flawless, nor does it make other countries useless.

They also have shit football teams and seem to forget about things like Europe's superior engineering among other things.

Lunchbox was simply an easy example to make it off. I hate all forms of patriotism, from any country. 99% of anything that you do is because of outside forces that you can't control. Being born in a country is not your accomplishment. Having that country be superior has little, if not nothing, to do with you. If some asshole were to act like he was entitled to the treatment of a god because he was born to some famous, rich, respected family, everyone here would call him out on his bullshit. Patriotism is that, but on a national level. It's bullshit and I hate it.

then how about you point out the hypocrisy on both sides then?

I agree except that superfortress crap. Totally baseless. You won't be saying that when Russia and China invade us!

The emotions you're experiencing are called resentment and jealousy.

If you were American, I guarantee you wouldn't be feeling this way :\

this is America -

they are from Latin america, Africa, middle east, far east, south asia. not just from yurop

A country built by immigrants fleeing from their oppressive homelands made the greatest empire in human history, achieved the greatest triumphs man has ever seen while you remained prisoners of a queen. as you admitted, it grates you, its hurts you. but bitter tears of jealousy and rants wont change that fact

bolstering out achievements? what have you achieved in the last century that trumps any of america's achievements such as Winning world wars and the moon landings? when using tax money from peasants to create "ROYAL" weddings is your only achievement in the last 100 years, youre going to get made fun of when you try to bash America

I only skimmed the thread, but the most vocal posts seem to be the ones praising america while the eurogaf seems to be focused on saying they're not all that. I especailly didn't pay attention to the Truck nonsense. Again, this isn't that I'm ignoring Eurogaf's patriotism, it's just that it's nearly 2 in the morning and I'm tired and don't feel like reading the entire thread. If you absolutely require a preface, the same that I said goes for Eurogaf as it does for Americangaf. There is no point in being proud of your country on any level. If you like your country more than another and enjoy living there, whatever, but when you start thinking that you are superior because of it, that's when you need to take a step back. As I said in my edited post, if some asshole were to act like he was entitled to the treatment of a god because he was born to some famous, rich, respected family, everyone here would call him out on his bullshit. So why do you not just accept it, but encourage it on a national scale?
