Yeah, that entry was probably when RE4 became self aware at how ridiculous it was and just ran with it. And possibly lost that sense of it with RE5, and so it goes.

DmC's dialogue is bad for sure, but only in the way the original Street Fighter movie is bad. It's awful, but supremely enjoyable in its awfulness.

You know how some games just have dialogue so bad or corny that at least its funny, or some that may seem bad at glance, but are just being tongue-in-cheek.
Well Golden Sun's is just boring.
Like there's just sooooooooo much dialogue in these games and pretty much nothing of substance is almost never said, its like if they went with the first draft of the dialogue without trimming the fat.
True, Shakespeare was considered to be a pretty vulgar dude back in his day.

No I meant the fact that people keep misquoting an actress who was talking about the themes of the game and said it's almost shakespearean in a way. People keep acting like Tameem or all of NT all said it and not Lilith's actress.

I knew what scene OP would link to. That's the worst dialogue in the game. Overall I enjoyed it.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 maybe? I remember watching my brother play it and I can't remember the exact part but Moira says something like "Go Jump on a Dildo Boss!" Another instance, not sure if this is a spoiler so I'll tag it.
or something along those lines I cringed so hard at how awful and forced those sounded.
When Barry manages to save Moira and he says something like "Fucking Technology" to which Moira replies "Yeah, fuck technlology right in it's fucking ass"

Awful edgy teenager crap. The writing in this game is so bad after so much fluff from NT during the lead up to release about it being high class and Shakespearean.

Ugh, that sounds worse then the dialog in both 06 and Shadow X(. I guess they tried to portray her as someone holding back her fear through cursing or something, but it really doesn't work; instead makes Moira sound forced and her character not that likable

I guess they wanted to maintain their image after Enslaved (which had a good story and told it quite well), so they wanted to ensure people "DmC will mirror our past work

Dude, DmC isn't even close to some games that got severely fucked in the localization process. Maybe you don't count that though since that's the fault of the translators.
Idk, I think the example in the OP rings kind of true. If someone I hated just called my mom a whore and said "fuck you" to me I would say "fuck you" right back to him. You wouldn't?

As someone who haven't actually played the game, I get the impression that the exchange is strictly tongue-in-cheek. A giant puking monster actually indulging in a "Fuck you" contest with some arrogant man is so out there I couldn't help but smirk. It's also directed as if it's some lighthearted, throwaway scene, too, not something that supposed to convey OH MY GOD DRAMATIC HORRIFIC MONSTER or something.
Now, that infamous "I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with light" scene in the first game actually seems worse to me. Unless that one is also not supposed to be a dramatic moment and actually a mockery of the whole thing.
It IS why I pulled up MK4. While those with terrible localizations are easy winners I feel it's better to aim for something that had to have been written in English in the first place.

Every DMC game has shit dialog. Why single this one out? It's not even the most offensive one, but it doesn't matter because they are all terrible in that regard. Bayonetta 2 has some atrocious dialog as well.

Numerous jrpgs. But there I think it's the histrionic overacted melodrama that really sells how shitty most of the stories are. The dialogue is just part of it.
However, there's no excuse for DmC either.

Moira is the bomb though. Her "teen rebel" dialogue is definitely polarizing, but I found it mostly funny.
Villain: I will become a god!
Moira: Come out from behind that glass so I can choke a god!
