It's 2016, and I have questions about NeoGAF

I imagined a Battle Royale-stylee deathmatch to determine who is and who isn't worthy of becoming a mod.

I'd like to know this too. Quite the knowledgeable and intelligent poster particularly when it comes to all things Sega but I swear to God every other week he's temporarily gone from here for some post or another. Is he due to return?
 
I rarely see evilore post these days(bish too come to think of it), is he still an every watchful albeit now quieter eye over the city of gaf?
 
Any chance of additional bbcode text formatting tags being put in? I suppose the potential for abuse is too great, but I'd really love some way to change the size of posted text, or some kind of 'openable' spoiler box in addition to the CENSORED type.

I guess it's a selfish request since I'm doing more wacky things with text formatting than the usual poster, but it'd be nice...

Oh god please no, we are finally at a point where Geocities/Angelfire atrocities are completely forgotten and would rather not have them back.
 
I've got a question that I've not figured out the answer to (if there is one).

Is there a way to easily search for replies to your own posts? specifically when your post is quoted and someone replies?

Currently I search for my own posts and have to scroll through looking for the colors.

I'm less interested in which mod bans the most people and rather which mod has been themselves banned the most (since lots of them were just regular members before they were mods)

Another one for the Mods: why did GAF do away with animated avatars? Was it a file size issue? Thread derail issue? Something else? Thanks again!
 
How come there is no 'new post from where you left off' button on mobile? You can only go to the first post or the last page as far as I can tell.
 
Just curious, do mods hold regular meetings? And what do they usually meet about?

Also, honest question, do mods tag junior members? Or do they only tag full-fledged members?

Many of the moderators converse with each other regularly, via a chat room. We also have a moderator-only forum where we have discussions. Conversation runs from policy initiatives, discussion of particular users, and current forum trends to TIS-100, how old Kabouter really is, and Y2kev's dog(which is cute).

Some junior members have been tagged, but it's more rare.

I haven't paid too much attention until recently, but in general it looks like a lot of the funny tags seem to come from the off topic section, while a lot of the "said something stupid/wrong" tags come from gaming section. Generally true, or just me not paying enough attention?

Also, some of my favourite forums have moved from vBulletin to Xenforo over the last couple of years, seems to be much preferred by many web devs who got sick of how bloated vB software became, and how badly managed they ended up. Wonder if the admin would ever consider a move? Xenforo seems to address a lot of the issues people had with vB. Took me some getting used to but I prefer it now.
