Does anyone under 30 at Coachella even know who Duran Duran is?

....

I'm absolutely loving the show that the National is putting on. They have an amazing sound live. Love Fake Empire.

dear lord, did Ellie Goulding dress herself for the first time today or something? Looks like an extra from a bad 80s disco music video...

haha, watching Duran Duran now...and I'm over 30. I'm really waiting for The Strokes to take the stage.

I watched some online on Friday and I decided that I would not e able to take it in person. I would not be able to handle the hipster overload. Look, I'm old. I admit it. I couldn't handle it. It's not that it's wrong, it's that I couldn't handle it, lol.
I've been to a couple of outdoor music festivals (when I was much younger) and for me, they're the absolute worst way to take in live music. I'd never pay exorbitant prices to see bands I liked (even a bunch of them all together) at a festival because I know I wouldn't be able to enjoy myself. Coachella is a bit of a different beast, though, so I can see why it attracts people for reasons other than just the music.

In 2 hours 30 minutes is when he should be on, are you a big enough fan to stay up long enough for the show!?

Well I'm on the west coast...so yes, yes I am

I hear that, definitely other reasons to attend. I'm not saying I wouldn't be able to enjoy myself but I would much rather, if I could, see the band I was wanting to see in an >21 venue.

[edit] SOB! That should have been an edit, my apologies for a double post.

Terrible Love is 10x better live than on the record.

Man, I don't know any bit of french, but that group Yelle from last night left an impression on me. They are having a performance here in NYC at the end of the month. I'm thinking of going but I don't understand a word they are saying! :(

The National just made a fan out of me. Ive never heard of them before. The drums were way too low in the mix. These sound people need fresh ears after a weekend of music i bet!

Go to the show, their music is great. I don't understand any of it but I still love listening to their music.

I might be going to that show too!

You'd be surprised at Je veux te voir. Such a catchy song, too.

New York City Cops? Damn, I completely forgot about this song.

HOW MUCH LONGER TO THIS?!

Yes I asked in both threads.
10:30 PST, or around there.

Foster the People were fucking king.

Felt like watching GoT and the killing instead of Strokes, and I passed on national because I'm seeing them Friday anyway. Will catch Kanye.

dunno if this has been answered, but are any of these performances going to be archived anywhere?
they are slowing putting up all(most?) of the acts up on the youtube coachella page it seems like.

The Strokes are pretty awesome live. Especially the old material. Take it or leave it is awesome for example. FUCK YEAH KANYE at 10 30!!

OK, I really didn't enjoy The Strokes. The songs sound all samey and Julian is rather unlikeable. I have a few of their albums, but never saw them live.

We'll get plenty of songs off the album i'm sure. It should be a long performance.

Sad part about performing songs from MBDTF is that there are so many features that not having them perform their versus is a little disappointing. Kanye performing Pusha T verse on Runaway, No Thanks.
