And this is why Square Enix is mercifully bestowing upon us a PSP port.Ark-AMN said:So uh, yeah, I feel left out now (especially with the sequel stuff announced). But I don't know how I could get it, I looked at ebay and its way out of my budget range for a game over $150 in some places.
So, what was this game about anyway?

And since nobody else will answer your question, the short answer is that the destruction of the world (i.e. Ragnarok) is imminent, so you, as Valkyrie, have to collect the souls of the recently departed from Midgard and train them to be mighty Einherjar who will you will periodically send back to Asgard to wage war on behalf of Odin. Pretty badass concept, really.![]()

Kroole said:So. Do they completely rape norse mythology and just uses the settings because it's cool (like every other asian rpg inspired by norse myth.)
or are they actually doing something that fits perfectly with the actual religion?

Duderz said:I wouldn't say it totally butchers Norse mythology, either. It makes a lot of adjustments, sure, but at the same time there are some things that are extremely faithful to the myths. (i.e. the whole Aesir vs. Vanir war in the coming of Ragnarok, and even your role in the game as a collector of souls / Valkyrie.)
But, again, it isn't a history lesson either.
Kroole said:Ok, thanks for the info. I would've really liked a RPG that actually follows the norse myth. as there is so much that can be done with it.
Shouta said:If you're looking for a RPG that follows it totally, then you're never gonna find one. VP is the closest I've see an RPG take Norse Mythology even with the liberties it takes.
