Jade Raymond's Assassin's Creed: Teaser trailer

Wow, you guys are harsh.

Not only do you so effortlessly assign numerical values to one's looks (which in itself is...somewhat arrogant), but you do so rather improperly.

Now, I am not one to play the "number game." As I mentioned, I feel it is unjust in a few regards but if I was to give in and conform for a moment, I don't see how Jade Raymond would not be a "10." She's beautiful, well-spoken, mature (I commend her on how she takes her occupation seriously), and seemingly fun.

:D There's my two-cents. :D

LOL 10! are you serious. Like damn have you been outside. You know giving her a 10 here is not gonna make her come to you and make love.

Indeed, look at those pointy knees. Way below my standards

GI: So is the Wii out of the question?

Raymond: Totally out of the question. You would have to change the gameplay completely. Our mandate was to deliver a game that wouldn’t be possible on a previous system. That’s what we were told to do. So we were like, “OK, what wouldn’t have been possible? One hundred and fifty people on-screen, each with their own AI. What else wouldn’t have been possible? Climbing absolutely everywhere, a free path where you can go anywhere, all that stuff. The AI is chasing you everywhere you can go. Great. Let’s do that.” So we wrapped it all up and did Assassin’s Creed. Of course you could make a great Wii game based on the franchise and story and have it fit and stuff, because that’s something we thought about—having episodic content and having different things. But gameplay wise it would have to have a totally different set of key features.

GI: When Assassin’s Creed was first announced for the 360, there were some comments made that there might be some differences in that version. Is everything going to be pretty much identical, or will there be any differences between the PS3 version and the 360 version?

Raymond: There shouldn’t be any differences at all. We’re sharing the exact same assets. The engines have the same capabilities. Both systems have different things going for them. With PlayStation 3, currently, you can see maybe a slight difference in some of the textures. With Xbox 360 right now you may see a little bit smoother framerate, maybe a couple more frames per second right now. It’s so negligible right now that unless you’re sitting there looking at them both side by side, you’re not going to see any difference. And that’s our goal—to deliver the exact same experience on both of them.

GI: What about the Sixaxis controls? Are you planning on using any of that at all?

Raymond: No.

GI: Why not?

Raymond: There’s still an opportunity if we come up with a great idea. We really wanted to us it first and we thought a lot, and every idea we came up for it ended up feeling a bit like a gadget. We were like, “If it doesn’t fit, if it’s not a great idea, why do it?” We tried, and we honestly couldn’t think of anything that really added to the game. Maybe we’ll have a great idea and look at it and do it again, but so far we asked everyone—we even asked the testers. “You’ve played this game—what would you add with the Sixaxis?”

GI: Are you planning on implementing any of the Home features, like trophies, or is it too late in the cycle to add that?

Raymond: It’s a little bit too late to be looking at that stuff. That’s probably for the sequel.

My most anticipated game. :)

Notice how she says... "With PlayStation 3, currently, you can see maybe a slight difference in some of the textures."

A slight DIFFERENCE. Not a slight improvement.

360 version to have the superior textures and framerate? ZOMG!

360 is a beast. :)

Are you a moron? She's says "different things going for them" prior to that.

Maybe.

But in virtually all other multi-plat games I can think of 360 has had the superior textures...

Maybe your right... maybe the $599 USD difference is starting to show. :)

Guys no system wars until game's launch. We'll see ourselves how the game looks on both platform with no PR responses, but as of now let's talk about how awesome it'll be.:D As of now 360 is probably better as it's the lead SKU.

Jade: (...) Like what we want to show, what we want to keep for later. You’re definitely going to see different stuff from what you saw at E3 last year, because that E3 demo wasn’t even a real city that’s in the game—it was a demo map. But you’re going to be able to see some of the new, impressive environments. That’s for sure.
Now I'm shocked :O

True that.

When is this game releasing anyway? I heard 08 but I really, really hope I heard wrong... :(
Last I heard, and according to my sources, Q3 07. I really really really REALLY helping you hope you heard wrong.

After that interview I am more interested. She is hot and cool (and likes games!).

So its definetely shipping this year?

seriously, who cares?

I want Assassins Creed info, not interested in her. So what if she's good looking, walk outside you will see plenty of good looking chicks. **** ,its really getting on my tits. ****ing embarassing.

I think you could add the six-axis for "twitch controls" (I just made that term up) so if someone gets in your way, or you want to make a little skip as something runs under your feet, you can flick the six axis in that direction to get your character to move say 2ft in the intended direction to dodge.

Or balancing on logs......I mean beams!

Seriously though, where is everybody?

I haven't seen Cliffy, Dennis, or Jaffe post in forever. Even Stinkles seems unusually quiet.

I don't pay full retail price for sp-only games...

I waited over a year to play RE4 and GTA4 because of this rule....

I'm buying this game day one...

I place my hopes in you Assasssin's Creed...

Let's see how we fare...

Wow some Wii fans on IGN are up in arms over the "not possible on Wii" bit. People in the Media Create thread last week scoffed at me when I said a game like Crackdown wasn't possible on last-gen consoles, and here we have Ubi saying a game with similar scaleable real estate isn't as well.

Obviously, there are some gameplay elements that are aided by increased processing power, despite what some people stubbornly want to believe. It's not a crime to think that the PS3/360/PC have something to offer this gen besides more sparks, is it?

Eh, it's probably possible. Just doing it would mean be re-doing a lot of stuff in the game, which wouldn't be worth it.

I just want to get the PC version. Mods and all are great. :D

The "press" lead many to believe the Wii was a next-gen machine...

Its understandable people are starting to get upset as they realize the Wii simply cannot do what the PS3, 360, and current gen PCs can do...
