Everyone clamoring for Casino Royale 2 should temper their expectations a bit. They had fantastic source material for that one, the element of surprise with a new, hard-edged Bond actor, and Martin Campbell.

I simply ask for more elaborate and creative action sequences, intellectually compelling love interests, morally questionable actions and manly testicle crushing scenes, please.

Campbell will probably be too busy with a Green Lantern sequel to work on Bond. I hope they start getting some more directors in the series though. I know most would LOVE a chance to work on Bond.

Casino Royale was one of my favorite movies of the last decade and I really loved Quantum of Solace too.

I'm down for three more with Craig.
Yeah QoS grew on me after watching it a 2nd time.

None of the Fleming titles left are very catchy. So I suggest that instead of the longstanding trend of cherrypicking Fleming's title's but not his works be reversed and we start making faithful adaptations of novels whose names have already been used, and calling them something else.

tl;dr Live and Let Die adaptation plz
I vote for Moonraker adaptation.

Bourne Identity led to what you got in Casino Royale.

No. Bourne led to Bond taking a turn for the more gritty, yes. I'll give you that. But that has sweet fuck all to do with Casino Royale and why it was great.

YESS! But damn 2012 November is far off, and right smack in the middle of Presidential elections. Hopefully its couple of weeks after Nov 2.

We'll be dead in December 2012 - we all have a month to see this!

In Bond 23...007 will become the American President.

I'm just hoping we visit more interesting locales at least. If we're not going to get a script up to Casino Royale's quality, at least give me something that matches its locations.

You now want to watch CR again.

DUDE. QoS had the most location shooting of the entire series. Thats why it was so crazy expensive. They shot everywhere, including a lot of locations which have never been seen in film for the most part. Bag on QoS for anything you like, but not this!

Is Quantum of Solace worth a rent? I've heard extremely bad things about it but I loved Casino Royale...

Sometimes people say things that are wrong, and unfortunately these false statements tend to travel a wee bit further than things that are more accurate.

It's a fine movie, it just doesn't have much of a story. It's all action scenes after action scenes.

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.

Its worth a rent for sure, as its a fun movie, but its absolutely one of the least impressive Bond films (in my opinion). It's basically The Big Budget Adventures of James Bourne.

It's really a direct sequel to CR which is new and besides that it wasn't that great of a movie.

I still enjoyed it, but was expecting much more.

I'm not talking about the amount of locations, I'm talking about the types of locations. Casino Royale had beautiful locations - every single one of them could have held the entire film in that one location and I would have been happy. The whole jet-hopping aspect of Bond really enamoured me in Royale because I fell in love with all the places he visited. Not so much QoS.

Well, I'll give you that Sculli - Campbell went to the Bahamas for CR, while Forster went to a lot of third world areas in QoS.

No, its not worth a rental.

Any Bond fan should own it. Great Bond movie.

I actually haven't seen Quantum since the first day it was in theaters. I loved it, but every time I've had the money to blow, there have always been things that I wanted more. I rarely rent films unless it's just something I'm not sure about.

Casino Royale was bullshit. You will never see a straight flush, two full houses and a regular flush in one hand of poker, ever. And those players were god-awful.

You'll also never see a better shot card game that lasts as long as it does.

There are a few fuck awesome scenes in QoS, like the (minor spoilers)
intro car chase and Bond's escape from the embassy in London
. But the problem with QoS is that it devolves into a Pierce Brosnan Bond movie with generic evil dictators and megalomaniacs.

We know, Forster gave us that shitty Michael Bay location text everytime he went somewhere.

what

in Bay movies it's always the same font in the bottom corner of the screen and it happens like 20 times per minute.

in Quantum, each location change is marked by a cool new title design and it doesn't happen anywhere near as frequent.

Watch QoS then turn around and pop in The World Is Not Enough. Not even the same fucking sport.

Yes, Quantum of Solace was so amazing for the things it pulled off and very few give it credit for: Like the tempo and flow of the various locations' sequences, with so many places, such an elegant transition from location to location.. I don't know. I love that movie and I think a lot of people who watched it once and were taken aback by the lack of 'story' and quick pace were sufficiently confused to not see it for what it is. It's not like Bourne at all, the camerawork, the editing, completely different. And it has some really ICONIC Bond scenes, like the one at the Opera, which is not just about the action.
