Jan 19th Preview Event for the Nintendo 3DS Thread

Why are they streaming 2 events in 2 different places if they're covering the exact same information? Or is this just to double mindfuck the gaming community with Euro and NA release dates and pricing at the same time?

Cross network play? To show off the online? And most importantly, to ensure both events are of equal importance.

None of the streams are officially up?
i couldn't even get the pages to load, but i'm good now :)

and, i'm an orange 3DS lover too. but no way we get a cool colour at launch. i'll settle for blue, would prefer red. i'll end up buying another for a cool colour though, i always do.

going to be harder to get something unique now that you can't import from japan. <3 my lime green DSi. ah well.

It's clear they are selling these with a more adult crowd in mind. Kids will gobble them regardless of the packaging. Smart move.

"Japanese retailers predicting Nintendo will release only 400,000 launch-day units of its 3DS console."

WTF?

Japan has 1.5 million units for the rest of fiscal year so they have to spread 1.5 million from end of feb to end of march

Just woke up. Has Nintendo already begun to fill every orifice of our bodies with awesomeness for which we are not ready?

Someone should get a read of the boxes to see what they contain. I also spy an ominous red information box, which might finally confirm region-locking once and for all.

It's the standard information about DO NOT MODIFY THIS CONSOLE, IT MAY EJACULATE, etc that's on each Wii/DS box already - at least in the UK. Region locking is also mentioned in those red boxes.

Okay, what is up with these my body is ready posts?
Long story short: A few years ago at the E3 conference where they demoed Wii Fit, they had Reggie using it and they asked if he was ready, and he said "My body is ready." People started using that phrase before 2010's Nintendo conference, and it stuck.

Being from the UK, I'd much rather watch Reggie than Jonathan Ross.
Agreed, but in this instance, I'd rather watch an EU orientated event for price and detail specifics.
Ah well - can always watch the US one after!

No, I'd say that would feature a little more prominently on the box.

Wii Sports didn't. Not when I got my Wii, anyway - it was simply 'Wii', and just that. They added a little sticker on later units, though.

Actually, my launch Wii box has a sticker that they put on in the front corner of one side. They can always add the sticker to these boxes later, too.

Right. So the 3DS may well have a pack-in game, but they obviously aren't going to let that be seen as a box sticker before it's announced at the conferences!

But you cannot have one, because it sold out everywhere.

Oh hey guys, btw Ghost Trick is the best DS game ever. Get it.

Will wait for iOS release because I am cheap.

I'm still gonna watch this. Maybe Nintendo will be able to convince me that despite the region locking the device might still be worth it.

JUST ABOUT 2 MINUTES LEFT GUYS! GET HYPEEEEEE. I'm betting on DSiWare points and 250 euro price point.
