A banned Nintendo site is saying that Link's Awakening will be available for download for the 3DS Virtual Console

Please be true. Day one.

That's not news, the GBC version was one of the first games shown back in September.

they said in the US talk that this only happened if you wanted it to. i think you can enable and disable certain features of the wifi seperately. sounded like that anyways.

Hmmm....I hope so. The impression that I got previously was that the auto-update was one of the features made to combat piracy. Being able to just turn it off seems like it would make it too convenient for pirates.

Either way, I'm not counting on region-free gaming on the 3DS anytime soon.

Reggie said the features were optional... so dunno.

I went ahead and preordered it from Amazon like everyone else. $250 is THAT bad :/ and since I sold my DSiXL a while back, I need a new DS anyway. The only launch titles I'm interested in so far are:
Kid Icarus
SSFIV
MGS:Snake Eater
And maybe one other title.

Not too crazy about most of the launch titles announced so far but it does seem like they have a nice variety to connect to a wide audience. Still hope to see Professor Layton 3DS (and the Layton X Phoenix Wright collab) soon. Like I mentioned, I still need a DS in general and glad to see that the 3DS is backwards compatible so I can play the DS titles I love and want to still buy.

Also, Nintendo... WHERE'S MY ENGLISH VERSION OF NI NO KUNI??? lol

Not launch games.

It's going to bomb pretty hard in the UK with that pricing. What was Nintendo thinking.

Not impressed with launch window software lineup. No Pilotwings or Kid Icarus to be found. Heck I'd take a remake at this point if Zelda or Starfox would be out at launch. Normally I would be interested in Resident Evil but not a Mercenaries stand alone game. When is Revelations coming out?

Don't expect Revs until 2012.

Steel Diver, Nintendogs, SSFIV, and DoA probably.

That's not too bad...I can see getting Nintendogs and SSFIV.

LOL at the Asphalt trailer (prerendered FMV) and the Clone Wars trailer (PS3/360 footage).

Super Monkey Ball (trailer on NoA's site) is the same thing. They make a big deal about not being able to see 3D unless it's on a 3DS screen, then they have a minute of pre-rendered footage. If only they would have spent some of that actual money on, you know, the game.

Ok so it DOES seem like a game will be available with the console at launch. AR games apparently.
AR games and face blaster or whatever. we've been expecting those since the JP press conference. good to see them confirmed though.

HA! I have my old link's awakening gameboy cartridge and a GBA.

Nintendo will have to try harder if they want me to get excited about VC.

The Nintendo 3DS Sound application lets you listen to your favorite music saved on an SD Card in MP3 or AAC format. You can even record and play with sounds via the Nintendo 3DS microphone with a variety of fun filters.
Nintendo, I love you.

Day one.

Nintendo's new 3DS site has a list of games that will be available in "spring" - Pilot Wings, SSFIV, Nintendogs & Cats, Steel Diver, Asphalt 3D, Lego Star Wars, Kid Icarus, Zelda, Madden, DOA, Pro Evo 2011, Starfox, Ridge Racer, Combat of Giants, RE Mercs, Bust a Move, Super Monkey Ball, Samurai Warriors, Ghost Recon Shadow Wars, Sims 3. That's 20 of the "30+ games" of the launch window...

tempted to get it at launch just because. But really wanted Pilotwings which probably won't be out at launch. Secretly hoping nobody buys it in the UK so they do an N64 price drop but realistically that won't happen. exchange rate is to blame really.

hmm
