Jeff Green Leaves EA, maybe returning to journalism

I'm sad to see the EA podcast go, but Bombcast and Geekbox appearances this upcoming week and Out of The Game might not be dead?! Lord of the Rings, No Hispanics, Be My Dad Yo Yo!

A Jeff Green joint is always appreciated. No podcast has topped his and even before the iconic GFW Radio I subscribed to CGW/GFW magazine as a kid. I started reading that magazine cover to cover at the age of 11 back in 2002. It's safe to say I'll follow whatever he does in the future.

And hi, if you're reading this, Jeff. Best of luck to ya! I hope all this idolizing isn't too creepy. :lol

Transitioning between jobs like this is never fun, but I sure hope it means we see and hear from Jeff much, much more now.

From his twitter:
Greenspeak Okay. Geekbox and Giant Bombcast appearances confirmed for next week. If you're not sick of me yet (AND WHY ARENT YOU) you will be soon!

Chufmoney @Greenspeak Let's get you out to my place too to record.

Greenspeak @Chufmoney I'm in!

Let the podtastica begin!

All video game podcasts released this month should feature Jeff Green. It will be the Month of the Greencast.

If we are good children, perhaps Jeff will give readings from his soon to be published high fantasy epic, The Cudgel of Xanthor, a nine volume series with all the orcs, elves, and magic rings you can handle.

George Martin, Steve Erikson, and PAtrick Rothfuss have all contributed blurbs of praise for the dust jacket, featuring art by Boris Vallejo.

Michael Moorcock declined, however, as he thinks the book is shit.

I think the love for Jeff goes a bit too far when people offer to be his cock ring.

Only someone who hasnt had the privilege of actually being Jeff Greens cock ring would say such a thing.

Jeff Green whoring himself out to podcasts everywhere!

And if they're smart, they're lapping it up!

Ever been to a Japanese steakhouse? Dude puts on a show for you...makes the onion ring volcano, throws around a bunch of knives, makes the smiley face with the oil, flips the shrimp tail onto his hat, etc? They serve you lobster, beef, chicken, shrimp, vegetables, rice, noodles, you-name-it! And what do you eat with all of that?

The special white sauce...that's what.

The special white sauce is fucking delicious! It goes great on everything! It makes everything...every single fucking thing...just a little bit better.

Jeff Green...you are the special white sauce.

Don't ever forget it.

Looking forward to geekbox and gb shows, but not even Jeff Green could get me to listen arthur again.

Didn't you read my post?

Every. Single. Fucking. Thing.

More Jeff Green speaking; less Arthur ranting and raving like a madman!

Less hearing "but it's so much MORE than that!" every two minutes in response to anyone else on the podcast, followed by tumbleweeds.

:p

Honestly, it's been about 1.5 years since I listened to that show. I actually tried two weeks ago because they talked SC II but I didn't make it past the intro.

But, next Friday I'm driving 32 hours to Yosemite so I'll be listening to the dregs anyway.

Jeff I remember posting this in the farewell thread we had a few years back, I think it fitting to post again.

You'll regret it. I know I always do.

OT, but do this: http://bp2.trimbleoutdoors.com/ViewTrip.aspx?tripId=59543

Was there earlier this Summer and that trail was honestly one of the best things I've ever done in my life. Easily possible as a relaxed dayhike too. If you're there for longer, (and don't mind camping out in the wilderness) check out the backcountry north of the valley.

i know jeff loves print so i wonder if he'll end up at EGM. could see him showing up on rebelFM and geekbox fairly often if that ends up being the case.

this could also mean the return of out of the game which would be nice... i miss listening to shawn elliot.

gamasutra has a chris remo shaped void right now, is based in the bay area and would pretty much fall into line with everything jeff did before. there's my bet.
This seems like the most likely scenario.

It's nice to read that he's happy with the change. I have to admit, reading all of those posts he did originally about struggling with the development side was kinda depressing, so it's nice to know he's going back to the writing that he enjoys and I eagerly await his choice of future employment. :lol I think it's obvious from that blog post that he sees his time at EA as something that was worth doing, not wasted time since he left Ziff.

I've never played a Blizzard game in my life, but one written by Jeff? I'd be tempted.
