the fuck is this
It's the same thing, the internet isn't a 'private' space, much like mailing postcard with yourself nude on the front wont be private very long.
the fuck is this
I agree that it's rude, but thousands of voices putting you on blast for it is excessive. I also understand that it comes with the territory of being famous because more people are listening to every word that you say, regardless of how trivial it was. The only real ways to avoid it are to keep your mouth shut forever or just go all in and be offensive 99% of the time like Sarah Silverman.
Well yeah. Same thing happens here when a million people quote you and put you on blast. Everybody wants to add their two cents even when it is the same exact thing that everybody else has said. It gets ridiculous very fast, and pointless.
I doubt JLaw thought about what she said, or intended to make intersex folk feel bad, and I bet she will now be more sensitive about that in the future. And I certainly don't think it wouldmhave taken all the crazy reactions on Twitter for that to happen.
Who are you even talking to?
Jesus, again with the outrage. I don't think she meant it that way.
Being gay, an hermaphrodite or else, may be a struggle to some, it's a very personal thing and until you are comfortable with yourself, it's something you keep to yourself until you're ready to bring it to the public.
She's saying that she's happy she's not an hermaphrodite otherwise she would've been outed without her consent.
Chill out.
She could have easily worded that way and it would have been understood better.

It's not just twitter/facebook. Look at how the majority of forum posters essentially treat a thread not as a series of opinions and thoughts - a conversation they can join in - but basically a mirror they can shout into as they pass by it.
Again - we're using a medium that relies almost entirely on text for communication, and a ton of the people using it with us HATE fucking reading.
This series of events was hilarious.Whenever you upload nude pictures unto the clear internet, it's as if you were sending a postcard with yourself naked on the front. Sure, it's supposed to be private and only seen by the receiver, but chances are it's gonna be seen by someone else.
There are more intersex people than redheads or Jewish people. Our society has seriously come to the point where "at least I'm not a hermaphrodite" is something you have to apologize for?

How is this any more acceptable than saying "At least I'm not gay"?Our society has seriously come to the point where "at least I'm not a hermaphrodite" is something you have to apologize for?

I post this a lot because I think people think only this small, defenseless group is getting made fun of all the time. It's a whole lot of people who aren't really accepted or treated normally in any society around the world.
How is this any more acceptable than saying "At least I'm not gay"?
Sure, and it's an unfortunate condition.
If someone walks away from a car crash and says "At least I don't have cancer," is that going to be a thing too?
So apparently she made a joke during the interview about how she's at least not been outed as a hermaphrodite.

People aren't too happy about it

One is a sexual orientation and one is a physical issue?

Oh, good to know where the line is.
At least I don't have Down Syndrome. Man, that felt good.
So youre saying hermaphrodites are a cancer?Sure, and it's an unfortunate condition.

You did pretty much put that condition and talking about it in the Negative pile, like when someone says something is gay to insult it. This is the road false equivalence takes us down.I don't see how any reasonable reading of my post could arrive at that interpretation.
Jesus, again with the outrage.

The hell is her beef with crickets?!
Nick Cannon, he's hilarious.
the hermaphrodite things reads as a tongue and cheek joke. i doubt she actually has anything against mixed sex people.
jesus, we've all slipped up and said stupid things from time to time. celebrities aren't demigods.
she'll probably apologize too, anyhow.
Her entire thing is acting 'hip' and saying stupid shit. Blame her useless PR team for refusing to filter her.
i am unhappy that JLAW is happy to not be a man.
It was a pretty stupid thing to say. Is hermaphrodite the politically correct term to use? Maybe that's also what added to it.
I doubt she hates anyone, or thinks of them in a negative way (or that the comment was for that purpose)... It was a dumb thing to say. I don't think she meant it the way people are taking it.
Pretty sure it was just that the joke implies she would be embarrassed to be an intersexed person, thus making those people who are actually intersexed feel shitty. I dont think anyone is upset over the H word.
I am certainly not interested in sacrificing her over this. I don't think saying this makes her a bad person.
People thought it was rude and insensitive. Jokes sometimes walk that line.
Take the L hun.
I think it's easy to say things you don't necessarily mean in what was probably an awkward interview at times. Most people can relate to that I think. She should apologize and make it clear it doesn't reflect how she actually feels and that she doesn't support that sort of thinking. In the end, without additional comments revealing more, people should be upset that she said it but not that she truly believes it.
. People are making a bigger deal out of a simple misworning than they need to just for the satisfaction of getting angry at something.
