* - NOTE: The European Clive Barker's Jericho PLAYSTATION 3 system demo will launch on October 4, 2007.
I was going to mention Timeshift, but I forgot the name. I disliked that demo quite a bit... but this is at least five times worse. At least TS controls well enough that you can shoot something most of the time, and the powers are somewhat useful. You're not randomly slashing out with a sword in the pitch black hoping you're hitting something with no way to tell until you see the corpse evaporate. There's no bobbing like a drunken sailor with one leg either.snack said:Have you played Timeshift?
Aaron said:Quick note for people playing. The demo ends almost right after the QTE, so you don't have to suffer through it. There's nothing more to see. Not even a lousy movie showing off the rest of the game like Bioshock did.
It only took me a couple tries as well. Failed the first time because I was like "WTF a QTE?!".Az987 said:I thought it was pretty good..
The QTE took me 3 tries, wasnt that hard. your all just babies

Took me two tries, and the first was just because I wasn't expecting them.
I thought the atmosphere was creepy as hell and that the controls and abilities were unique. I liked it alot.
< $40 purchase for me, so probably sometime next year.

IzumiK said:I don't know which version you were playing, but the PS3 version tells you straight in the face that there will be a QTE to "survive". Let me check if it happens before the start of the game or in that intro video.
I was totally ready for the QTE and the QTE was easy and more fun than the other games.

Mammothtank said:I'm getting sick of the Unreal Engine 3. All these games have the same visuals that just don't look right and have a sickly blur to them.
TheFallen said:A bit too dark, couldn't see much even with the flashlight.
Mojovonio said:I played till I got to a bridge area with a gate in front of me, then I stopped cause I coudln't figure out what the hell to do.
MomoPufflet said:The graphics in the game were surprisingly good to me (360 on 720p VGA), and the demo was reasonably fun. I also had no trouble whatsoever with the QTE, and would even venture to say I "liked" it in the context of a brief demo. However, there are some major issues I have with the game:
-The head-bob is WAY too extreme. This is especially apparent with the ninja chick when you use her sword; I mean jesus christ, how are you supposed to see what's going on? I like head bob in FPSs, but this needs to be toned down a ton.
-The flashlight is too dark. I actually liked the extremely dark environments, but the flashlight area needs to be more illuminated for it to work.
-The reload animations are terrible and boring. Maybe it's just me, but if guns in an FPS aren't fun to shoot and reload, the game falls apart. They also need some semblance of recoil or feedback when you shoot them-- it feels like you're shooting a BB gun. I will say though that the animation when you look into the sniper rifle was very cool.
-Sound effects are shitty, mainly the guns.
If these issues are addressed I could definitely see myself buying the game. It did take me by surprise, I didn't expect to like it at all.
