Jesus, Ubisoft.

FIFA 12 is on 12 platforms, so this is quite sane in that regard.

But really, there seem to be more "cross-gen" games this generation than any previously. It's a little worrying, like there's less faith in people upgrading.

The Atari 2600 box art would just be a poorly drawn cartoon pirate flag surrounded by an orange border with the words UBISOFT PRESENTS: ASSASSIN'S CREED: BLACK FLAG on top and VIDEO GAME CARTRIDGE: FOR USE WITH ATARI VIDEO COMPUTER SYSTEM below. The poorly drawn pirate flag should probably include the Atari rainbow somehow.

I honestly don't get the criticism.

The AC-games are hugely budgeted games. The cost of porting it is probably miniscule compared to what they make up for it in sales. The fact that we're now in a situation where we'll have cross-gen ports is not something that will be unique to Ubisoft. Nor is it a shameless money-grab.

They were definitely going to make AC:BF for PS3,x360, WiiU and PC anyway. Being one of a few established franchises among the launch-window titles for both the new consoles is obviously great opportunity.

As much as I love indie gaming, or first-party vanity projects/labours of love, I don't get the hatred for 3rd party developers doing what 3rd party developers by design will do.

Already laughing at the blue/purple argument, but when Gary Oldman turned up, I fucking lost it!

Mouth open laugh and fucking salad over my desk.

I like how the XBO is down to the size of blu-ray discs. I do not really like how it is green on the spine.

But I like both fronts for the PS4 and XBO cases.

Yeah they look really good. Ubi need to make money, as long as the next gen versions are the lead platforms for development and the rest is 'downported' I couldn't care less about the other versions.

It's selling. Wonder how long until fatigue sets in, but with PS4/XBone coming out soon, looks like Ass Creed will keep selling.

I do feel a yearly thing is overkill but that's the video game business nowadays.

Actually it would be nice if every game was released on all platforms like this. I agree on the Assassin's Creed burn out though..

this is only a problem because AC3 was subpar. keep the gameplay fresh, and I'll take a new locale/theme AC every year.

also, what's with the boxes getting bigger and bigger in the picture. messin with my head, man

Will I be able to buy an AC 4 code listing for my TI-84? Ports included, they must have two thousand people working on this.

Kidding aside, I have no problem with this.
