They had so much momentum with the graffiti competition and the music announcements they really should have struck while the iron was hot. Not that I want them to rush it, I'll buy it no matter what, but they may have missed a good release window on the run up to the Summer of Arcade.

Maybe they can still capitalize on that by releasing the first week after the Summer of Arcade has concluded.

Honestly, it is probably Microsoft's fault here. They're probably delaying the game until after the Summer.

Summer of Arcade may literally be the issue, just like Retro City Rampage. Of course Sega are less likely to whinge on Twitter and let us know precisely the hold up like an indie developer, but this shit is reprehsibly stupid if Microsoft is holding some truly great Vita-suited games to ransom so their own little party isn't overshadowed.

It's amazing how angry you can get over a total guess you just made.

We know for a fact this is whats happened to Retro City Rampage. Sega has had promotional stuff all leading up to what would presumably have been a release and now utter silence and still no date and they also ' can't tell us' yet.

Coincidence perhaps? Could be Sega ineptitude as ever, could be MS and one of those things we only ever catch whiffs of thanks to mouthy indie devs. Would love to be able to narrow it down for sure, but oh well eh. Witholding a potential posterchild month of "games you can play on PS3 and on PSVita" with Sound Shapes, Retro City Rampage, and JSR one after the other kinda seems like the petty console war stuff I can see taking place.

There could be a hundred reasons why it's not out yet, it seems silly to fixate on one as if it's definitely the truth. I mean, it probably is, but it's not worth getting agitated over unless you know for sure. Maybe Sega are withholding it to get the Vita version ready. Or the iOS version. Maybe Sega are withholding it so it doesn't clash with SoA and PSN Play. Maybe there's some last minute bug that needs fixing. Maybe their marketing team is busy on something else at the moment. Maybe loads of things.

You have to wonder though if that leaked June 26th date on Sony's page was gonna be the release date at one point

I had long thought Microsoft was the reason this game wasn't getting a release date. But, the more I think about it the more I'm starting to think this is just Sega being Sega.

Plenty of other XBLA games are getting post SoA release dates. So if this was just a matter of SoA being in the way, we'd see a JSR date right now.

So that leads me to the recently announced iOS and Android versions of the game. I can just imagine some Sega suit saying "we should have all platforms launch on the same day, because that would be important". So they continue to delay the previously announced versions to wait til the mobile versions are done.

JSRF was my first and only JSR game i want that in HD more than this tbh
Yeah, this is the only one I played too and i really loved that game, first game on the xbox too, which was the pack-in with Sega GT/JSRF. I'd rather have JSRF over this, but JSRF was an enhanced version of JSR, so I'm still stoked for this original.

Enhanced? If by enhanced you mean a very different game that was inferior in most ways, then yes, it was "enhanced".

Future was a Sequel. I wouldn't say it was enhanced at all. It is rare that any sequel surpasses the first on all counts. Imo, JSRF is not one of them. Not saying it is a bad game, just saying that the original still had the edge.
