Wait a minute. You're real surname is not actually Sterling but Stanton? My whole world has been turned upside down here. I need a moment.
While this has never been private, it is something DH tried to "dox" me with during out interview. It was embarrassing. For them.

However, Sterling is literally the name I use for *anything* not official, government/hospital related. The only reason I've not had it legally changed already is the fact I'm still technically a "resident" of the US and not a citizen, and until my moving process is officially over (it takes ten f'n years), I don't want to complicate things.

My name IS Jim Sterling. It's not an alias or a pen name, as far as I am concerned. It's the name I want to be referred to as.

Stanton? My whole world is falling apart! Next, you're going to tell us you're working for konami!

:p

Sorry to hear these guys are taking things to this level.

Suppose for a moment Digital Homicide guy is mentally ill or unstable:
At some point is the appropriate thing for Jim to do to just stop reporting on them?

This might have now progress past the point of no return, but Jim absolutely 100% used them for clicks and views. They're now an antagonist, and people love that shit. This has become a public scene for Jim and we consume it hungrily.

If DH is truly not "all there", they're just not simply going to be able to respond to criticism rationally. Which is fine, criticize them, but reaction videos to their reactions of the criticism is essentially stirring shit.

You're filming a crying child and are surprised to find that only makes them cry harder.

People sometimes bring this up, and I'd offer two counters.

1) It's never okay to diagnose a stranger with a mental illness, so until they were to come out and say it, I'd never assume "these people are legitimately psychologically unwell."

2) This is not one person. This is a two-man team, and they *claim* to have a third in the case of some hotshot lawyer who is desperate to sue me. The fact it's two brothers suggests this is not just some lone troubled person.

1) Does anyone realistically ever come out and tell people they're mentally ill? A very large amount of people in that phonecall thread were getting the "something's not right here" vibe. Who does it ultimately fall upon to make the judgement call to say .hey I should let this cool off for my own well being and theirs?' If you're being doxxed, then you're now absolutely a victim here, so I'm not going to demonize any prodding you've done leading up to this point if that ends up being the case. But until that point, this entire debacle gives me the creeps and I think both parties have willingly escalated it.

2) If they're brothers, mental illness is often genetic - not to mention I'd find it hard to imagine a co-owner that is also a first degree blood relative would abandon his nutty compatriot.

I dunno, Jim. I enjoy your videos and this is very concerning. Be safe, at this point being as public as possible is probably for the best, but I really question what led to this point.

I actually first discovered Jim when Angry Joe covered the spat between JS and DH. Why would he want to stop reporting on it, if it is drawing people to his channel? They are the best publicity tool the guy has ever had!

Not going to lie. That Jimquisition Jim did on DH a few weeks ago made me a little uncomfortable. I understand his desire to uncover shady shit but that would have been a good point to finally let the Romine brothers fade into obscurity (and fade into obscurity they will). I just genuinely hope this won't escalate into something regrettable.

I just realized that it's been a full year since this whole thing with DH started with the original Slaughtering Grounds video. Can't believe all this came up from one video of a bad game and now it's spiraled out into this whole mess. Jim's done so many videos about bad games and even got a few enemies along the way, but none as persistent and borderline crazy as Digital Homicide.

Sitting on the sidelines, all I can say is "what a ride".

Honestly, the best thing for Sterling to do in this case is file a restraining order against the two people from Digital Homicide if they are unstable individuals. I know Sterling doesn't have that kind of money and neither do DH.

JFS, if this does go to court and it has to come out of your own pocket, I don't know what the public reception to this would be but if you decided to crowdfund the legal case, I'm not even a Patreon supporter but I would totally give to that fund. Your show is fucking awesome and bullies deserve to get got.

Personal life[edit]
Sterling was born in the United Kingdom, where he lived on the poverty line for much of his childhood and was psychologically abused by his mother's lover, a Hell's Angels outcast.[3] He currently lives with his wife[4] and two children in Jackson, Mississippi, United States.[5]

Thank you for the support. I was pretty creeped out last night, I've woken up this morning and more fucking *angry* than anything else. Angry at the sheer incompetent cowardice, the insulting belief this would scare me into silence. Just...

They better pray I don't get a concrete connection between this blog and whoever they are. I will see to it the legal system crushes them into dust.

I don't have solid proof it's Digital Homicide yet, which is why I've chosen my words carefully. I know DH was behind the "Jim Flips The Bird" Tumblr because the twitter associated with that blog (now deleted) exposed itself as one of DH's sockpuppet companies. The fact this blog is written in the exact same style and is positioned as a "sequel" to that previous blog points entirely to DH, but I would never act without solid proof.

As soon as I get that, there will be a reckoning.

For the guy saying I'm "doxxing" Digital Homicide, no. They exposed *themselves* as the ones behind the original anonymous attacks on me, and as far as using their real names go, it's a matter of public information. I never used their names until *they* started using their names. At this point, it's like naming Dan Paladin when talking The Behemoth. It's not hidden info that the individual has forbidden the use of.

Wikipedia has deigned to add an entire subchapter on the Digital Homicide saga if you would like to know more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Sterling#Digital_Homicide

Thank you again, guys. I'm not very happy, but this thread cheered me up.

Love you Jim, stay safe.

Man fuck these guys. All Jim has ever done is try to inform his viewers of shit products and practices, from steam green light crap to big boys like Konami. He points out other games/"studios" as crap as DH in just about every video on green light yet they are the only one divorced enough from reality to see themselves as crusading good guys against the big bad Jim...

Ahem...Jim Fucking Sterling Son.

I almost hope they do get in legal trouble because obviously they are not going to get it until there are real consequences.

It's really worth watching (or re-watching) Jim's original Squirty Play of The Slaughtering Grounds, to remind you where it all started. Not least because it only emphasises just how deluded the folks at Digital Homicide really are, in regard their now epic defence of the game that kicked this all off.

I think I still have the theme song from the game wedged in my brain.

Digital Homicide is the worst. They are the prime example of everything wrong with the gaming industry, from terrible games, to awful behavior and stolen assets. I hope you give them a punishment worthy of their crimes Jim.

I'm sorry I didn't post a response to this news earlier but I really hope everything gets worked out.

Thats NOT cool that the DH guys are doing this to you and it really shows how unprofessional they are as not only developers but as people too; you don't bother people for no reason.

I hope that Jim Fucking Sterling Son takes care of business and that this whole issue gets resolved soon. Good luck with dealing with them one final time and that you keep up the great work with your work :D.

Did Digital Homicide get in on the Wii shovelware?
What ever happened to the guy that used to sue people for using the word "Edge" in games? I remember Soul Edge changed Soul Caliber.

Nah, they first appeared in 2014. Since then, they've tried to publish at least 14 games via Greenlight and Early Access.

You mean Edge Games? Yeah, they kinda fell of the face of the Earth after losing the battle with EA.

Ah yes, that was legendary copyright troll Tim Langdell. He had gaming copyrights for the names "Edge," "Cutting Edge," "Gamer's Edge," and "The Edge." He founded a company called Edge Games in 1990 and...never made any games but he went after EVERYONE who used the word "Edge" in anything. He finally pissed off the wrong people: EA. He went after EA for "Mirror's Edge". EA took him to court and in 2013, a court ruled that he should have no right to the trademarks on the basis that he's literally made 0 games since founding the company in 1990 and ordered them to be cancelled.

As mentioned, Langdell is the reason "Soul Blade" had that name instead of the originally intended "Soul Edge" name. Every game after used the name "Soul Calibur."

Don't watch any of your videos, Jim, but I've been eyeballing the threads related to this Digital Homicide stuff. Good on you for standing your ground.

Can't help imagining the decision making process here. They could take criticism to heart and try to make a better product, one that will make them a lot more money, but they're not willing to do that. So trying to terrorize their biggest critic is probably their attempt at taking an easier option.

Should probably watch that interview with that you had with them. From what I read, it sounds a lot like the FATAL review rebuttal in how horribly and unintentionally revealing it is about the guys being initially criticized.

I wish they'd both just shut up and move on. I don't agree with Doxxing, but then I don't really find Jim's constant poking and prodding at Digital Homicide to have helped either.

I can kinda see your point (i personally like his content, but can understand what you're saying), but one is very illegal, and the other is very not. There might not even be a way back for DH after this. They dun goofed.
