Jurassic World Official Trailer

If the point of the genetically-modified super dinosaur is to excite and attract visitors, why the hell did the lab folks give it the ability to turn invisible?

"Come one, come all, and witness the invisible dinosaur with your very own eyes!"

One thing I just noticed watching it again, at the start with the gate, THERE IS A GIANT GAP AT THE BOTTOM, WHAT'S THE POINT IN THE GATE?

I may be mistaken, but this looks like it was shot digitally. I feel like using actual "film" may have gone a long way into giving the movie a look more in line with the original films. I feel like film grain also helps unify the CGI and real world setting better. I also have no idea how to make films so maybe none of this makes sense.
I completely agree. Movies on digital just seem too clean and crisp to me. I love the grainy look that film gives. Regular film is perfect for a movie like jurassic park.

It's probably built for show to give the passengers on the rail a spectacular entrance - while not actually marking the security fence's perimeters.

Seriously not seeing why Pratt was cast in this as the character we see in the trailer. There doesn't seem to be many redeeming qualities to his persona.

Other than that, looks like a green screen spectacle for the ages. Too bad the "we-genetically-engineered-a-dinosaur-to-be-too-smart" schtick is in this.

Anyone you recognise?

I see ol' Spiny there on the left.

Well, actually
if some leaked script is supposed to be believed, the geneticists of the park managed to tame the raptors like dogs, where Pratt's character is "pack leader", so to speak. That's why they don't attack. He's their "leader". There's supposed to be a scene in the beginning of the film where they are shown hunting in the jungles of the island together, similar to a hunter with a dog to catch fallen game IRL.

So I am guessing we will have some stupid Teen Wolf/How to train your dragon 2 alpa shit going on. Pratt is the alpha of the pack but the new genetic hybrid will be the true alpha and be able to take control of the raptors from him.

People do know that Pratt could have raised these Raptors since birth and therefore could have a special bond with them... just like humans do with Lions, Tigers and Bears, right? Or are these dinos just meant to be dumb, bloodthirsty sharks anyandall the time despite their intelligence? Oh vocal pessimists, never change.

You are the superior wordsmith.
There's a mock poster/meme that says it better: "Park and Rex Creation"

That's impossible seeing as there were only three adults in the first film. two were killed by the Rex, and the one that will have died of dehydration in the refrigerator....

The subsequent raptorpacks also displayed social behavior. It's implied that this behavior comes naturally.

So, the trailer decides to drop early while I'm on a film set? Cruel and unusual.

I'm not sure why I bothered reading this whole thread- not liking it is fine, but some of the complaints presented as fact baffle me ('bad writing'). The trailer certainly relies too heavily on one liners, but those are nothing new to Jurassic Park ('hold on to your butts', 'they should all be destroyed', etc). I do think the trailer should have used different VO's for better dramatic effect, but nothing I heard seemed bad at all.

Yeah, the CG, it's a bit too much in this trailer. But did you see that park set? It's only a small portion of a huge practical set, and they built plenty more locations. As well as filmed on location for a lot of scenes. The scene that bothers me is the dinosaurs at the riverside.. why have a nearly completely CG environment? That feels off. Which is a shame, because it's a beautiful shot.

Anyways, I liked the trailer. Fucking Jurassic Park 4. Hyped as fuck. I agree it was cut a little awkwardly, and fizzled out. But nothing made me go 'oh man this is gonna be bad'. Do you guys even remember Jurassic Park 3?

The premise of this film is amazing, and it seems like we're going to get a fucking crazy Dinosaur movie. Some of the shots looked really promising, I really dug Bryce with the flair, and Chris saying 'Evacuate the park..'. Something about those felt grim. Same goes for Pratt and Bryce checking out the busted Gyrosphere.

However, where the hell were BD Wong, Vincent D'Onofrio, Irrfan Khan and Omar Sy in this trailer? Should have teased more relied less heavily on swooping CG centric shots.

Thanks!

Yeah, that's the Indominus Rex. Also, that CG looks particularly fantastic.

Oh there you are.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

:D

I'm a big Jurassic Park and can't wait to see this, but I can sense mediocrity from the trailer. New casts are fine but those two lead actors just look "unnatural" to me. Also CGI is kinda of meh and too obvious.

I had a small hope that in that scene both Pratt and raptors were too busy running away from that other big dinosaur to attack each other, but if this is true...

In the leaked trailer that is different from the one that is offically released it showed a small clip of a raptor approaching Chris Pratt then he held his hand up and the raptor backed away.

So yeah the raptors being tamed is pretty much confirmed at this point

While I liked the video (I've never seen a reaction mash up before) some of the reactions are bonkers. One chick nearly bursts into tears.

Good. Grief.

What the fuck is wrong with you? She's not allowed to be happy about a movie coming out?

I've done the exact same thing.

Looks like a mixed bag probably, looks WAY better than JP3 though thankfully!

Acting seems good, CG looked sometimes great, sometimes terrible. Hopefully they showed mostly the terrible stuff.

Movie will sell an insane amount of tickets.

Genetically modified dinosaur as the villain...

Aren't all of them genetically modified anyway? That's the plot of the first freaking movie!

I'm having mixed feelings about this one, if they would've had the balls to throw feathers at least I would be more excited.

I agree. Somehow the CGI barely seemed any better than the original.

Hell, I'm gonna say it not only barely seemed better, it seemed worse even. Original is over 20 years old and had better CGI dinosaurs than this.

And the reaction mashup video, not a single one going "wtf is this shit?" come on.

It:
-
can camouflage itself
-
is as intelligent as a raptor
-
is poisonous

i mean, i can accept that they create a new dino to be the next big thing, to get people excited again but why are they making it like that?

why would any of those things be interesting to go and see, unless they are byproducts that they didn't want.

Not a huge fan of the "genetically modified dinosaur" premise. However...

OG T-Rex busting out of nowhere at the end for final showdown with Lab Monster Thing will redeem all.

Fingers crossed for epic showdownz.

Spielberg trying to imitate JJ Abrams' style. In the end Kirk will reverse the timeline.

Chris Pratt sounds absolutely awful in that trailer.

Completely blasé delivery.

I would have liked the film to look grittier. All in all, after seeing the trailer a couple of times, I've come to the conclusion that the trailer sucks and relies too much on CGI (I know that trailer CGI is work-in-progress). But all hope is not lost for the movie.

There will probably be a "twist" where the D-Rex was actually created to be a bio-weapon.
