complete anti-intellectual nonsense with no basis in any reality.

People LOVED the original Jurassic Park for many specific qualities, none of which included excessive ham and fucking atrocious CG

Glad you're able to get a complete feel for the movie based solely off the trailer alone, nevermind the fact that the CGI isn't finished most likely. You get a gold star!

We don't even know the context for the last scene and everyone's already losing their minds.

Why would they genetically modify the dinosaurs...a dinosaur by itself is already something so huge, so monstrous is appeals to our deepest fears. So bad. So bad already.

The entire basis of the park is entertainment and novelty - the dinosaurs are already modified from their original form by mixing them with frog DNA. A hybrid/custom dinosaur is the next logical step for a park built on creating attractions.

I'm out for now.

Also I'm glad Legendary saved some money by reusing the brrrrrrrrr from Godzilla, it's also a very good sign.

Dinosaurs are terrifying as they are but noooooo we now have to have super mutant dinosaurs.

The premise is that after a decade of the park being open, regular dinos aren't as captivating as they used to be. The hybrid is worked on to generate interest again as something new, something unseen before.

honestly, it looks absolutely terrible. the cgi, the futuristic park, the dumb story of a genetically modified dinoasaur? really? will reserve judgment till when i see it, but not impressed at all by that trailer.

Ugh. All hype from teaser and leaked clips are now gone. The dialogue is just soooo bad. Chris Pratt being serious doesn't work.

I figured this is how it would go. First everyone is "oohhh" "aaaahhhh" but then comes the running....and the screaming.

Burt Macklin: FBI, Star-Lord, and now Dinosaur trainer leading a squad of Raptors into battle. Glorious. Can't wait, excited for dinosaurs to finally once again be apart of my life

Raptors helping humans is just STUPID. Who the hell thought this was a great idea?

That is absolutely horrendous, feels nothing like any Jurassic park film ive seen.

God damnit got my hopes up

That last scene...The raptors aren't...good guys in this movie are they? I remember reading the leaked scenario for JPIV back in like 2004 and it was
genetically engineered raptors that helped humans...

This isn't that...right?

A shitty screenplay 65 million years in the making.

i have, this films dinos dont look much better in comparison. i mean the newest transformers movie had great cg robots, and the newest godzilla had great cg creatures, so i was executing maybe something close to that level but these cg dinos look bad and extremely fake imo.

They are working on the cgi so it is going to look better, If you look at early trailers for godzilla, he didn't look good.

Who is doing the VFX? ILM? Whoever it is, they sure didn't do a good job with this trailer. Granted there's time to clean things up, but as far as some of the effects goes, it wasn't looking too good (not all of them, but you could easily spot the most egregious examples).

No John Williams makes me sad. But at least Michael Giacchino is a damn fine replacement.

The CG is kinda bad really. :lol Not the most convincing one I've seen, and that on itself is kinda disappointing for a movie that so heavily relies on it.

I am excited to watch it nonetheless.

This looks amazing. Unlike the other sequels I was feeling the first half of this trailer.

I'm not to keen on the problem being a genetical modified super dino. Also that motorcycle ending was some bad CGI that dragged down the good will earned.

I'll atleast rent it.

The park design is fantastic and nice to look at. The acting seemed fine. The story has more interesting elements to it than another "let's get someone stuck on Sorna again and mechanically force an older character to go back." The CG is obviously still being worked on. The domesticated raptors idea is an awesome one and gels with the intellectual evolution of the raptors across the pre-existing films. The hybrid dinosaur idea also works with the running theme of the park runners "playing god" and it backfiring. Nothing seemed out of place, thematically, from the rest of the series.
The problem is you are basing it on the rest of the series. This is why so many are reacting negatively to the trailer
The general consensus for most is fair to say has been the JP series is one good film followed by two very forgettable below average sequels. This movie fitting with the last 2 is not a good thing.

Genetically engineered dino is a bit meh, plenty of real dinos to be scary enough and they could just have some genetical thing make one of them behave more agressively or something.
The point wasn't to have some new big bad.
It was for the park to have some "amazing new attraction" like all theme parks try to do every year.
In World the park has been running for 10 years so many dinosaurs have probably lost their luster by that point.

Raptors will steal the show. Everyone's talking shit about it, but your eyes will water up when they save the day.
at the emotional climax of the movie a raptor bro will sacrifice himself to save starlord, and as starlord weeps over his dying corpse, the raptor will look up and say "I know now why you cry" BOOM UNIVERSE CROSSOVER WITH TERMINATOR GENYSIS

Yeah, the first Jurassic Park was great for similar reasons that the first Jaws is great. It's less about the creatures, and special effects, and was more about the good performances by the actors, delivering smartly written dialogue. You often become much more invested in a film I think when you care about the characters. This really looks just as bad as the last two Jurassic Park movies.

Btw, given that we already got trained raptors in this movie, what are the chances we're gonna get this scene in the ending with the roles reversed?

Oh look. Comments about an unfinished movie being unfinished.
We do this every single time there's an early trailer for a CG heavy movie, folks.

I'm so hyped the hate just washes over me like Rain-X.

Spielberg insisted on that for the film, but they compromised. Now they're just raptors trained by Pratt's character. Still five of them, probably still have the stupid names, but no "brain box" and no talking. They're just tame, to him only, like they think he's their pack leader.

He got his genetically engineered raptor in Indominus Rex.

By not finished do you mean started 15 minutes before class when the teacher just walks around glancing at your homework to see if you did it but you just filled out a bunch of stuff to get a check mark?

Why does 20 year old CG look way better? No excuses. This looks awful. Dialogue sounds laughable as well.

Jurassic Park was cool because it took something you loved as a kid, and made it a legitimate and cool thing for your parents to enjoy as well. That film vindicated my childhood in a way. This just looks stupid.

But I'm not one of those guys ;_; I just wanna see dinosaurs, not friggin' Godzilla'1998 everywhere.

Seriosly, the more i look it the more i think it's really bad.
Only thing i'm saving from this trainwreck is the theme played by the piano, that is certainly emotional as a fan.

They changed the name huh?

I remember it was Diabolus Rex when the leak came out.

The same way you train bears, wolves, tigers, etc? lol

Took 1000 of years of human experimenting and it still doesn't work, some animals wiring prevent them from obeying, and some intrinsically feel they belong to communities and can be some-what controlled. But Raptos wtf?
