Jurassic World Official Trailer

I'm sort of neutral on this movie right now, not sure how to feel.

I will say that I'm worried about the modified hybrid rex. When the Spinosaurus was introduced, everyone saw it for what it was: A lame side effect of sequelitis. The bad guy has to be bigger and badder than ever to make up for the lack of good writing. And just to prove it, here it is snapping a trex's neck with ease! What a wuss!

Except that the Trex is not a wuss and was the biggest baddie of the entire original movie. To do such a thing seems to actually cheapen the first movie.

While this does fit in with the motives of Henry Wu in the book, it still doesn't strike me as very respectful of the T-rex "character" established in the original. That tyrant "ruled the Earth" and now he is old news? That just doesn't feel right. Feels like another Spinosaurus.

And if one of the themes of the original was that nature cant be contained, tame raptors seems like a very opposing idea. Here's hoping that they are not as tame as they seem.

It goes with the whole "theme park" theme.
You need new stuff every few years to draw people in even if you already have the best stuff in the world.

Universal Studios didn't stop with the Harry Potter addition (one of the most successful theme park attractions ever), they just recently expanded it, now there is some KingKong shit getting added as well as the Jurassic Park section supposedly getting huge additions.

The trailer was... Worse than what I was hoping for. Still, I'm a sucker for more Jurassic Park so I'll go see this in the theatre.

We don't know right now ; theories range from the 'it wasn't exciting anymore' to 'they want to use it as a weapon". I think the second one makes sense.

I think they want Chris Pratt to tame it.
Really? REALLY lol!? A weapon? Thing can just have a JDAM dropped on it and that's the end of that. What kind of weapon would it be?

The scripts if I recall correctly leaked before, it's to create a new attraction and new visitors.

6+ months is a heck of a lot of times to improve CG.

I have to ask, why would they think it's a good idea to create a new species of Dinosaur? Just saying it, it feels like a bad idea.

Mainly because we don't want to see the protagonists get chased by a T Rex or Spinosaurus again. It needs to be BIGGER!

It's really cool to see a fully realized and functional Jurassic Park, but the way they are justifying the disaster (hybrid dino goes bad) just seems really dumb. I'm getting very strange Jaws 3 vibes here.

I expect it to be fun though. Much in the same way as JP3.

Ugh. Eh. Meh. Doesn't looks that good, did they worked on a budget or what?

And what's with the B movie type of story? Awful. Run!

The CG looks like a steaming pile of dino shit.

The first Jurassic Park wasn't super awesome or anything but it certainly did have some nice special effects for the time. The animatronic stuff was pretty decent.

Bryce Dallas Howard though... my god that woman is beautiful.

I hope you get eaten by a T-Rex for that

I wonder what the CG of Jurassic Park looked like circa mid 1992.

This would make sense if there was a competing Dinosaur Theme Park. The reason Universal and Disney are expanding so much is competition. And there are so many real dinosaurs that they should never run out of new attractions. There is little reason to create a hybrid.

I wasn't even hyped about this and I found the trailer very bad. Why can't they just let the franchise die? :/

This trailer looks bad. Really bad. The whole idea is bad, the futuristic park looks bad, the artificially modified dinossaurs sound bad and the CGI is crap.

:|

Was hoping to be swayed by this trailer but I'm really not feeling either the scientist or Pratt...or the kids for that matter.

So Jurassic Park has been reduced to nothing more than a reflection of expanding theme parks attempting to stay relevant. Yikes.

The idea of a genetically modified dino sound a bit meh, but its really about how they deliver on that front. Raptors probably couldnt figure out how to open doors if they were alive today but that was still terrifying as fuck in the original and worked extremely well. So aslong as he isnt spinosaurus sneeking up behind you in a plain open field with trees around then i am interested.

They can fix the CG hopefully.
But will they fix those corny as hell lines? That whole "depends" conversation... ugh.

At least my hype is gone so I won't be disappointed when it releases.

It reminds me of Deep Blue Sea when you put it like that...

What's hard to understand? Humans in general can be incredibly vain, after a decade, regular dinos could lose their luster in terms of attraction. The park probably costs a shit ton to operate, I can see how they would need something new and wild.

Hahaha, I don't know. I'm not sure why they'd create a new attraction that can cloak, though.

"That depends"
"on what?"
*music stops for potentially cool/funny line*
"what kind of dinosaur they cooked up in that lab :|"
*balloon deflating noise*

Hey, if Umbrella thinks the T-Virus could be an effective weapon and Weyland-Yutani still wants to tame Aliens anything goes.
