No story spoilers, but it's a list of some of the DLC that was left in the demo.

Oh yeah, for whatever reason, they didn't clean out the locale text file for the demo, so basically pretty much everything is there, like DLC text.

DLC packs:

Pimped Rides Pre-order Pack
Bring on the chaos in Panau with a pimped up Ice Cream Van. Featuring a sturdy front ram, side skirts and greater top speed, you have the perfect tool for causing some serious fender-benders. Its extreme makeover also include a jingle to match. And if you’re in the mood for something even more destructive, why not try out a true weapon of mass destruction in the new and improved Tuk-Tuk. No longer the runt of the litter, this particular Tuk-Tuk houses a ridiculously oversized mounted weapon on the roof. Just the thing you need to wreak havoc in paradise!

Wild Rides DLC Pack
Unleash your inner beast with two truly powerful new vehicles. Get your kicks on the routes of Panau with this beautiful Chevalier Sauvage -69. Once this muscle car kicks into high gear, it will take a swarm of Panau's finest to put it to a halt. And if you are looking for a bit more bang for your buck, try out the new F-33 Dragonfly fighter jet. With quad-mounted miniguns and double missile launchers, this agile bird is the definite ruler of the skies, and packs a serious punch to land based targets as well.

Multi-Rocket Launcher DLC Weapon
Become the master of destruction with this fine addition to the Just Cause 2 arsenal. As the name implies, the Multi-Rocket Launcher is capable of firing a spread of rockets on your target, making it the most destructive weapon in Panau.

Signature Guns DLC Weapon
Get ready to truly fill Rico Rodriguez's shoes with the return of his classic signature guns, as seen in the original Just Cause. Don't miss this opportunity to hone your chaos-causing skills, using Rico's favourite tools of the trade.

Individual DLC items (in packs or separate? who knows):

Bull's Eye Assault Rifle
More powerful than the standard assault rifle, this lightweight and lethal automatic rifle features increased accuracy and a higher magnification scope.

Air Propulsion Gun
Courtesy of the Agency Propulsion Labs, this gun was originally designed as a jet engine but was soon repurposed for the weapons division where the Air Propulsion Gun was born.

Cluster Bomb Launcher
A natural progression of the grenade launcher, the Cluster Bomb Launcher is a small-scale weapon of mass destruction for personal use.

Rico's Signature Gun
Customised by the Agency and adapted for Rico’s shooting style, this deadly accurate and powerful pistol packs a punch with precision, power and flair.

Quad Rocket Launcher
Combine a rocket launcher with a shotgun and you've got yourself the powerful Quad Rocket Launcher - expect some collateral damage!

Multi-lock Missile Launcher
This highly sophisticated weapon of destruction allows you to lock up to four targets and unleash a barrage of homing missiles to take care of all your troubles.

Tuk Tuk Boom Boom
Try out a true weapon of mass destruction in the new and improved Tuk Tuk. No longer the runt of the litter, this particular Tuk Tuk features a ridiculously oversized mounted weapon on the roof. Just the thing you need to wreak havoc in paradise!

Chevalier Ice Breaker
Bring on the chaos in Panau with a pimped-up Ice Cream Van. Featuring a sturdy front ram, side skirts and greater top speed, you have the perfect tool for causing some serious fender-benders. This extreme makeover also includes a jingle to match.

F-33 DragonFly Jet Fighter
Try out the new F-33 Dragonfly fighter jet. With quad-mounted miniguns and double missile launchers, this agile bird is the definite ruler of the skies, and packs a serious punch to land based targets as well.

Chevalier Classic
No agent should be without a hot set of wheels and with an increased top speed and superior handling, you can arrive at your destination in style or make a guaranteed quick getaway.

Agency Hovercraft
The ultimate in amphibious transport, the Agency Hovercraft is the most flexible form of transport in the game. Steered by a thrust-based engine for smooth and agile movement, the vehicle is as comfortable on land as off. Equipped with a turret-mounted autocannon, you’re guaranteed to blow your opposition out of the water.

Monster Truck
The usefulness of an oversized monster truck when destabilizing small countries is clearly evident.

Dual Parachute Thrusters
Take to the air for longer! The Dual Parachute Thrusters when mounted to the parachute rig provides bursts of forward momentum to extend airtime.

Dare Devil Parachute
Perform your ultimate stunts in style with this Dare Devil Parachute.

Chaos Parachute
Featuring a skull motif, make an entrance no one will forget ... should you leave anyone alive to remember.

Camo Parachute
Designed for covert operations this camo parachute will make it much harder to trace your movements across Panau.

Tiger Parachute
Take to the air in style with this tiger stripe parachute.

Firestorm Parachute
Avoid enemy heat with his hot Firestorm Parachute.

Scorpion Parachute
Rico's trademark 'Scorpion' comes to life in this bespoke parachute.

Rico's Standard Parachute
Rico's original parachute for those that would like to return to basics.

I am not sure if this has been asked yet, and I apologize if it has (I went back a few pages and couldn't see), but I was wondering about the items you get with the Limited Edition. Are they exclusive to the LE, or are they simply stuff you unlock late in the game given to you early on?

I am tempted to grab the LE for the Hovercraft and Rico's signature gun, but I don't really want to pay $15 extra for the LE only to find out they can be unlocked later in the game.

Someone achieved to grab a propelled gas bottle with the hook and fly away with it? LOL, tried it several times but unfortunately the hook disconnects from the bottle when the line gets pulled to much. Would be so funny to watch me being pulled and dragged throughout the level by a freaked out *out of control* gas canister...

The only issue I have with the game so far is when you are trying to take over a town and you only need 10% more you could be running around trying to see what you missed.

I thought so too at first, but look near the map. There is a radar that lights up the closer you get to an objective.

I've done it several times, but only with the red and white canisters. It takes timing to get it right. You need to grapple onto it just before it takes off, otherwise you'll grapple to it, but then just ungrapple when you get to it.

It's a great way to shoot straight up into the air and parachute the hell out of a base when you get over run. Just be sure to pull the chute before the canister explodes :lol

This happened to me, too. As annoying as it was not to be able to move, it was well worth it to watch his body continue to tumble down this huge mountain.:lol

this is all I ask from Motorstorm :(

Just fiddled around in the demo on steam for a bit, it seems pretty fun, although the driving in the PC version isnt so hot. Ran quite well on my computer too, even after I cranked almost everything up.

Not true. All you do is shoot it and then grapple attach to the top part of the cannister. Works everytime regardless of timing. Took me a bit to realize it.

Really? Every time I tried to grapple on before it took off, I'd just let go. Granted not all of those times did I grapple to the top of the cannister.

*runs off to play the demo to try it*

Game runs great on my PC except the opening cut scene is super snowy.... like a TV getting bad reception. Anyone else have this? The actual game looks great.

I have that during the first cutscene where that bitch screams in your ear. I AM BOLO SANTOSI!!!!

Lots of snow.

Yea just grapple at the top of the cannister and it should work. I just took a motorcycle attached to a helicopter to the top of s mountain and rode the motorcycle down. Game is amazing!!

You can of course just grapple to it then shoot it. But that's lame.

Just had an awesome moment...I took out the huge broadcast tower on top of the mountain. As it was coming down it barely struck an enemy heli...but the pilot was killed and thrown out, and the heli spiraled out of control with the other dude still in the passenger seat. :lol

So I need a plan of action for extracting the most out of the demo. I usually just meander about doing my best to make the most of the limited time, and I usually end up somewhat dissatisfied.

Any tips?

I'll be joining you guys once this game hits the shelves. My birthday was yesterday and my brother had made me this painting since he couldn't physically give me the game just yet!

I'll see if I can get a better photo of it once I remove all the lining..

This is crazy awesome, being on top of a giant construction crane while it's collapsing, having crazy firefights while jumping from one passing car to another and using the gas cylinders to bail out when the going gets tough.

The only thing I miss is kiting behind vehicles with my parachute.

The GTA series could learn a lot about freedom and controls from this game. It's amazing to be able to get to virtually everything you can see.

Seems like it only works with the pickup crates, though, not the destructible stuff. I've had a few times where I've had to hunt down a stray transformer or radar dish.

There's a helicopter up the mountain from the start point near the radio tower that you can use to get around faster.

There's also a way to break the time limit if you find the 30 min too limiting.

You can stop the timer on the console versions. On the 360, when the timer hits 2 seconds remaining, hit the Dashboard menu button, then close it, press A, then do it again the the game starts.

When the timer hits zero, you keep playing.

Mind you, you have the big red timer stuck at 0 on the screen. So if you're willing to put up with that, you can play for as long as you like, provided don't die. When you die, that's it.

You can also go out of the demo area and explore more. You can't do the entire map though. You get maybe a few square km's extra, but then the map becomes unfinished. You see holes in mountains and roads falling off cliffs.

Fall off and you die.

I tried this last night and I know that it works.

The same method applies to the PS3. Just hit the PS button and X.

You can get rid of the red timer on the console by going to settings and bring the Hud Opacity down to zero.

I can't stop playing this demo.

The time glitch on the 360 works like a charm*, and every time I play I just mess around and try something new. Hell, I've even gotten really used to the vehicle controls. They even might be the best controls I've used in an open world game, since each vehicle has very different handling characteristics on different terrain. It takes some getting used to though.

I've also gotten to the point where I'm a ninja-roping master with that hook/parachute combo. Used correctly it can be one of the fastest ways to cross the map, easily outpacing cars on the road. It always makes me smile to parachute UP and OVER a mountain too :P

This game really does fire on all cylinders. Love it, love it, love it. Its this year's Crackdown for me by far.

* Timer glitch help: To get rid of the flashing "demo" message, just set the UI transparency to zero. After a while you can turn it back up and the demo timer message will be gone.

Another way with the 360 version is to be near to the next blackmarket unlock (maybe take it easy for the 30 mins) at the end, when you unlock the next blackmarket icon, it'll replace the "0 seconds remaining" with "Opening PDA" and when you exit the pda, the warning SHOULD be gone.

this game came out of nowhere for me, I mean I played part one and liked it but didn't think to much of it, then I see the demo on steam for part two and play it... crazy good, I am hoping the new command and conquer game isn't so good so my wallet wont hurt so much next week.

Wow, was expecting another turd from the franchise, very good game! Tried the pc version and I was surpirised at how many additions it has compared to the console versions. One problem though is framerates... it does 60 easy at the starting point, but once you go down in the cities it starts dropping in the 30's on a quad core 3 ghz with a gtzx 280... oh yeah and dont enable water simulation (CUDA calculated), kills the framerate even though CUDA is supposed to be such a beast... (roll eyes!)

Hey, I happen to do this kind of things quite a lot with my brother/friends as well!
They end up loving the idea of the drawn "art", I like your brother's acquerello watercolors, specially the main explosion, his choice for the reds and yellows and the touch of pink&gray around it :)
Keep it, NEVER throw it aways or something, you'll hold on to this memories in the future.

Nothing like riding on top of civilian cars and grappling the military jeeps to other cars or the ground.

Can you actually make a working tripwire with the grappling hook?

EDIT: Scratch that, grappling passengers to the ground while stunt riding is comedy gold :lol

Seriously, some of the videos people are posting here are f'n amazing. They should run an ad of all the shit you could do aside from the acual main game and that'd sell a ton of copies. As is, seeing these video's has me all but sold. My only hope is they fix the X/O issue on the PS3, as mine is a JP one. I don't want to spend the extra money here to get the US version only to be gimped like I was in the demo.

Earlier in this thread I posted that I really wanted this game to click for me, but it just didn't.

Well, it finally clicked, and now I can't stop replaying the demo. The amount of freedom and creativity they allow here is staggering. Once you realize how versatile the grapple is and how easy it makes it to get around, everything changes.

I'm also very impressed that the framerate stays respectable even when several massive (and great-looking) explosions are going off.

There's no way it will make it to the market with that bug still intact (though I'm still going for the PC version without hesitation. Mmm water).

I tried that and noticed that people would tend to stop on their motorcycles when they got too close. They would eventually go through it a low speed, but I would say that you probably can on a fast-moving vehicle. And that is awesome. :lol

Freedom, yes. Controls, no. Mapping the run button to the shoulder buttons is stupid.
