Or people will just go to different airfields. It really helps now that not everyone spawns in the large city close to the commercial airport.

The sheer amount of fun to be had with hijacking vastly outweighs the annoyance of having your car stolen from you or airport craziness. Being able take someones helicopter as they spam spawn points or airplane hangers is vital. Or jumping off the top of the MHC balloons to snatch someones plane is about the most satisfying thing one can do. It would be fucking nuts to take that out because people don't like losing their sports car or have trouble getting a plane.

Man, plane surfing on a friends plane and grabbing someone else's out from under them in midair, then having someone do the same thing to you 10 minutes later. This mod can't come out soon enough.

Agreed on all fronts. People complaining about hijacking because their car got stolen really need to step back, look at what kind of game they're playing, and reevaluate their position.
 
Does anyone browse their forums who knows what has changed? I assume they might put hijacking back in but maybe they've got some more stuff synced so we can shoot each other and stuff.
 
It's back up. Still no hijacking as of now. It makes it kind of boring. There's really not many ways to interact with other players with no hijacking and no shooting, and nearly invincible cars. If you don't like racing or spamming with a heli/being spammed by a heli, you might as well play single player. Hopefully future beta tests will bring hijacking back, or they'll release something and give us the option on our own servers.
 
Mine wont start up, I gave it the path to my .exe the IP and a name and it doesn't do anything when I click start :/
 
Going to give this a shot, picked up JC2 in the Steam sale and only played a few minutes so this could be fun.
 
Any changelogs? The last beta's weren't really that much fun mainly because the animations were so wonky.
 
Is no one from GAF playing this right now? I am just about to jump in and was surprised to see the thread was dead.
 
You know what I kind of liked the meta game of making it to the airport where everyone went. Now that you respawn in different places it kinda ruins that. The world is almost too big for that many people.

I actually like the random spawns better. If you go to the nearest airport from any spawn, there seems to always be a group at the airport. I just want some form of hijacking back.
 
I don't now much about this project yet, but will we eventually be able to create our own servers?

I live overseas, so I imagine it'll be a pain in the ass to play. I have a couple of friends that love the game and I have a spare machine and bandwidth to host a server (5 megs upload), so I'd be very interested in hosting a server for some friendly madness. I wonder if it'll be possible.

No, the server software is not available to the public at this time. It will be released when JC2-MP itself has been released.

Nice. Weapon sync being added is going to be interesting.
