Just tried Five Guys, does it get better than this?

No, this is as good as fast food burgers get

In n out, whata burger or five guys is close but Fatburger on Las Vegas Blvd reins supreme

In N Out surpasses Five Guys with the first fry at 1/8 the price

So yes. Not sure why there's a Five Guys thread every few months. Pretty random.

If you are on the East Coast try Elevation Burger.

They have the grass fed gimmick. I think it tastes better and supposedly it is way better for you.

Red Robin is better, Whataburger is better and cheaper too.

Red Robin is for people who like lean, bland, tasteless meat. Every time I go I'm utterly disappointed.

Fuddruckers is the best burger chain. Meat is juicy and well seasoned, buns are fresh out of the oven and fried in butter. It's damn good.

Five Guys is great. People get defensive about their own personal favorite fast-casual burger joints, but I've had good experiences at all of them. They are a huge step-up from McDonald's, and they are juicy and filling.

I always find Five Guys patties kind of plain tasting, but they make up for it with an amazing free topping selection. And yes, the fries are great too.

As far as underrated fast food burgers go, I really like Steak n Shake. Nicely seasoned patties (if a bit thin), and the Double Cheese with Fries combo is very reasonably priced.

Another fan of Steak N Shake and their milkshakes are the best.

The Whataburger love is heartwarming. I have to mention that they also have the best damn ketchup in the country too.

<3

Fuddruckers is also great!

Definitely my favorite burger. They have just the right amount of fat in the burger and simple seasoning to bring out the meaty flavor. Love the cheese as well.

The bun gets a bit greasy, but that's the price you pay for a good fat/protein ratio.

A1 and grilled mushrooms, if you've never had it. I don't think anything else belongs on a hamburger anymore. Well, maybe bacon. But that's totally optional.

Everyone keeps calling these places fast food - Five Guys, Shake Shack, Fatburger, Smashburger...but they really aren't.

5 Guys takes maybe a minute or two longer than Wendy's or McDonalds. Plus 5 Guys interior restaurant is actually very basic compared to some of the newer, nicer traditional fast food places. PLUS all the traditional fast food joints seem to have "premium burger" options now. I'm not familiar with the other places you listed.

why do you say it's not fast food?

Whatever you do, don't take it to go if you are not going to eat it within five minutes. It turns into a soggy mess pretty quickly.

Five Guys is good but there are so many options around me that are either cheaper and just as good OR slightly more expensive but much higher quality.

The peanuts are a nice touch though

The biggest sin of In-N-Out, is, they don't have mayonnaise.

Yes, they don't carry mayo or may based products. I couldn't believe it. That completely excludes them from any consideration for me.

Fries and Burger with no Mayo. The hell outa here!

I come into every Five Guys thread to say that I like Five Guys. I also look at pictures of burgers, it makes me happy.

Mayo is disgusting on burgers. Hell, any sauces. All I like is cheese on mine. And bacon.

Went today. Burger was awesome, and plenty of fries. I'm still full. Also the first restaurant I've been to that played Metallica (that I noticed).

Goddamn I keep hearing how great it is.

The MU podcast guys say it's the only thing they want to eat when they come to America.

I liked the mcD's angus burgers more than I liked the 5 guys soggy sauce special. I mean, unless you're eating it there, you may as well ask them to dunk it in a gallon of sweat, which is what it will look like by the time you get home.

This. Five Guys is great and all, but Elevation just has something special that makes it so good.

And that cheese. Oh. Goddamn. That cheese.

On a trip in the USA at the moment so decided to try this. The fries were whatever but the cheeseburger was great.

Contemplating Shake Shack today to compare.

Paid £8 for a burger at the Trafford centre the other day, was not impressed.

£8 for a burger?!?!?

Complete rip off for what it is. Tried Shake Shack while in the US, nothing to write home about apart from the milkshake.

It better be better when it's like 3x the price of other fast food. But really for the price you can get awesome burger at countless other sit down restaurants.

Bought some steak burgers from the butcher today, just fancied a good burger after reading this thread. Sadly no fries to go with it, just oven chips but they're nice ones at least.

Chances are strong you live close enough to a restaurant with better burgers and better prices than Five Guys.

The entirety of my insides cramp up whenever I put a Five Guys burger anywhere near my mouth. Its fine as, like, a self-indulgent grease party, but you can do much better if youre going to spend that much on a burger/fries.

Considering I am someone who's never heard of "Five Guys" as a fast food place, I had totally different expectations coming into this thread
