Justin Bieber says N-word

He looks really young in this. Im not justifying his behavior but all the bad stuff you did comes back to haunt you eventually especially if you become famous.

And now I dislike Bieber even more, would you look at that.

Well, having read the rest of this thread, I'm once again disappointed in people. Do yourself a favor and avoid the rest of this thread if you see this.

No, really, don't look at it, it's awful.

As sad as this sounds, this sort of mentality is prevalent everywhere. It's sad, but it's reality. Racism at some level (being Pakistani and Muslim) exists whether outwardly stated or not.

In any case, Justin looks really young in the video, and despite the myriad of "Fuck Beiber" posts that are going to come raining down, I'd like to think he's 'just a kid'. Kid's say stupid things, kid's behave in dumb ways, and kid's are prone to being jackasses.

The following years would catapult his career and put him squarely in the same rooms as Usher, Kanye West, and plenty of other prolific, talented, and famous African Americans. I would hope, atleast by this point, the kid has wised up and broadened his views on race.

In any case, he's a kid, and kid's say dumb things. Let's not tear him down for this. There's are plenty of other reasons to criticize him, but using this as ammo, an antiquated video of a boy not yet into the realm of stardom, is just plain reaching.

(Also I am assuming this is Justin pre-his famous years)

I hate Bieber and his music, but I agree with this post.

I laughed and I'm black. Get off this kid's back.

He probably interacts with black people a lot more than most non-black folks on the internet who will criticize him for this lol

Being racist isn't right, whether you're age 15 or 51.

In a post 9/11 world, I lived in Madison, Alabama. Where every single day I was judged, critcized, and socially questioned. That sort of thing didn't bother me. That's outward racism, which Beebs is doing a perfect example of here.

The shit that hurt me, were things no one says, but feels on the inside. The innate racism. The racism taught at home, but never said publicly. The "don't trust him, but say hello" bullshit.

For example, I remember being invited to a friend's Church once. I came in early and sat in the first row on the right bench. As people began filing in, not a single person came to sit by me, let alone did any one say hello to me.

Racism, bigotry, and misgivings - will always exist. There is no reason to be over sensitive. I've always felt like it's my duty to rise above the stereotype and through my personality and communication skills- to change people's belief and coda.

I feel that when rappers use the N-word in their tracks, it perpetuates the use of the slur.

What does the N-word even mean to young people these days?

And if you read our sentences, we didn't defend it, we are saying it looked like it was a while ago.

And what does that matter...?

No one is saying that it is. The headline makes it seem like it was a recent event though.

The headline makes it seem like nothing, what does it matter whether it was yesterday or five years from yesterday? I'm not seeing the point... There's a statue of limitations on being racist?

I'm not a Bieber fan by any definition, and the joke is lame, but he's just being a dumb kid in this video. There's no implied racism on his part. He's not calling someone it. I think calling him a piece of shit for this would be an overreaction.

I hate it when people say that. It's like somebody saying "I'm Jewish and I thought the holocaust was alright." Just because you as an individual find it okay, doesn't mean you speak for everyone who is in the same boat as you.

He is like 15 in that video. Doesn't excuse it, but why are people acting like he did this yesterday?

People don't need a reason. They will do it anyway.

There was a thread on gaf where people joked about hoping he got raped in prison.

It is exactly like that. Great analogy.
