Famitsu just shot themselves in the foot.
I dont know how much the rest of you know about international journalistic culture (Im an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it. Its not like it is in America where you can become successful by being an asshole to your readers, it doesn't work that way when you appeal to the masses overseas. If you screw over international readers, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance.
What this means is the foreign public, after hearing about this, is not going to want to purchase these magazines, nor will they purchase any of Famitsu's other offerings. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but Famitsu has alienated an entire market with this move.
Famitsu, publicly apologize and switch these announcements to a more global audience or you can kiss you business goodbye
