Kamiya: Ask Nintendo for Bayonetta 2 on PS3. You should also ask for Zelda on PS3.

I don't think this will be as bad as that though

I don't think Bayonetta 2's appeal is as narrow as a(n ugly) Treasure rail shooter on the Wii, and Nintendo is already doing a MUCH better job at promoting Bayo 2 with the cosplay actress at E3 alone.

S&p 2 was beautiful

Wonderful 101? It's another Platinum game.

Everyone loves Super Smash Bros.

Those are the games I'm gonna get in addition to Bayo. and many more if Nintendo implements a "player's choice" discount line much earlier this time in the console's lifecycle.

I'm actually one of those who doesn't love Smash Bros. I respect it for what it is and usually buy it (bought the GameCube and Wii versions) but the gameplay never really 'sticks' for me.

I haven't checked out anything much on W101, but I have faith it'll be amazing based on Platinum's ability. At this point I might just wanna remain as ignorant as I can on it, and then be pleasantly surprised when it comes out.

I wonder if Nintendo just funded this for 'street cred' among hardcore gamers, knowing full well it wasn't gonna be a moneymaker...

OR

Did the folks at Nintendo marvel at the gameplay in Bayo 1, and knowing a great thing when they saw it, snatched up rights for a sequel with the intention of putting their marketing weight behind it and making it the super smash hit that the first game should have been?

Second may be a dream scenario, but I'm curious I see how Nintendo will handle the release of this as a first party title, given how 'M' rated it'll likely be.

Wait for the IwataAsks. I think we'll learn alot more about how this collaboration came to life through that.

I'm really curious myself

S&p 2 was beautiful

The human character models were the stuff of nightmares. Especially compared to the gorgeous concept work.

The game itself was extremely pretty I agree(blissful sensory overload), but the characters are a huge part of creating appeal and S&P2's characters were ugly as fuck.

Still want playable Saki or Isa in smash tho!!

If I'll ever consider buying a Wii-U, Bayo 2 is going to be one of the main reasons. So far, ~250 quid for a single game is a bit steep, but with X on the horizon who knows, who knows...

After Brawl? IDK my dude, I just don't know

A lot of people loved Brawl, and even then the main problems seem to be getting ironed out with the new one. Tripping is gone, for example.

Still can't get over how she reminds me of Bayonetta.

Wonder Pink reminds me way more of Silvia than Bayonetta

but I guess they all could kind of remind people of each other

People get so made at Nintendo and Platinum for Bayo2 exclusivity, that SEGA has gotten off free, when they were the ones who green lit the sequel almost assuredly for 360/PS3 then cancelled it.

Finally the pink elephant is addressed!

I think after the Anarchy Reigns delay and the Bayonetta PS3 port, Platinum fans are tired of getting mad at Sega.

There's newblood in the pen now

Why are people acting like the bayonetta franchise is exclusive to Nintendo? One game yes, but who knows for the sequels?

Sega would probably never fund a sequel and publish them by themselves, so as far as im concerned, the only scenario in which we get B3 involves Nintendo publishing it after above average sales of B2.

Nintendo should have paid slightly more and have them port the original Bayonetta to the Wii U, to pad out the release schedule.

Or Sony, or Microsoft. With the latter throwing moneyat everything except actual problems, I could see it coming to the xbone

Nintendo is a platform holder. They don't require all their games to make money, many are just there to strengthen and broaden their portfolio. In that regard, Bayonetta is a "system seller", even if it only manages to sell a couple thousand systems. It doesn't even need to break even in itself to be a success. Because every system it sells increases the installed base and leads to additional game sales. That's one of the things often overlooked when some idiots want Nintendo to go third party: Nintendo wouldn't fund projects like Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101 or X if they were third party.

Excellent observation

The whole thing

I love the notion that Sega can outmanouver Nintendo's fearsome legal team into releasing Buyonitta 2: Superwitch on PS3/360 with the help of the studio that is currently working on two Nintendo exclusives. This patethic fanfic has finally reached new levels of dumb.

In my hype for Wonder Eyes Pink, I realized I forgot to gif Red, Blue and Green's character intros....I should get on that.

it's embarrassing enough that kamiya still has to explain this shit...a 6 page thread on a hardcore forum like GAF? mess

Kotaku: Clueless guy who created Bayonetta hints at Nintendo going third party.

oh man i hope this didn't already happen

Call me crazy, but i see zelda in ps4 or 5. in ten years nintendo is off of console market. They will be handheld only. More like a tablet gaming company.

...i just wanted to add to to the pile-on, regarding how dumb this post is
some of this last batch of jr's are putting in work on this thread

eh, i think people are thinking of old-school nintendo; modern day, they've backed M stuff before, and they know the demographic they're under. my only question was how little they had to put up to revive the project.

ps sup Whoomp, how you been man

I don't think this will be as bad as that though

Is not going to. I was trying to going more in the line of how S&P2 and other Treasure games doesn't sell well, even considering they are highly replayable and overall fun, compensating they ugly in-game style (for S&P2 at least) with really good gameplay, and not only by SHUMPS/on-rails shooters.

Treasure is a company who focus almost entirely on putting things on screen. Maybe by having help with the design, among other stuff, they can supply the in-game modeling, personally i never considered it bad tho.

Still can't get over how she reminds me of Bayonetta.

The voice actress for Wonder-eyes Pink really sounds like Bayonetta, and his armor reminds me of Kulshedra

People have to deal with the fact Bayo is dead. no use port begging. just accept the fact shes gone. sucks, especially since ninja gaiden shit the bed, and DmC got rebooted. The holy trinity of character action games is a thing of the past. :(

Well done.

I like you. We should be friends.

If the sequel is a success, then Nintendo will almost certainly have deals in place for further negotiation of the IP.

If it isn't, then it isn't attractive to the other platform holders.

It's a fantasy.

Yea what's the issue again? I thought this was obvious to begin with. Can't believe some people still don't get it.

I think the notion here is "We whine enough, we get the game", like a fucked up version of #PS4DRM, anyway, see you guys in the next thread, here, some more Gifs, keep fighting the good fight:

On a more serious note, I hope everyone gets banned during the official OT for Bayonetta 2 who comes up with that "betrayal!!" shit. Otherwise no-one will be able to talk about THE ACTUAL GAME.

It's been a year.

A year.

A year of this song and dance.

It's been a year.

As long as there's music we'll keep on dancing

bwaaaaaah

At least we figured out what's happening in these threads. One guy says something (possibly intentionally) ignorant and inflammatory about the situation, 30 people respond to his post calling him wrong and stupid.

So now hopefully we all know to not do that

I was over it on Day One, who is still asking for a port? Bayonetta is dead as far as I'm concerned, I look forward to P* 's next get console offering.
