Yeah I think the thing people are missing is that Thom is just a weirdo. I don't think he 'snubbed' Kanye. He was just being his borderline Asperger's android self. It wouldn't surprise me in the least that if Thom's mind saying, "I've heard of you" and walking away was a perfectly normal thing to do. Also we're really just getting Kanye's side of this story as well.

Oh my goodness. This is the perfect storm. Batshit insane Radiohead fans that think the group is God's gift to music and can do no wrong and...well...that's enough. That alone makes want to rip my eyes out. The group is decent and all but their fans makes it sooooo difficult to like them. I don't understand how they got this sort of following. I guess it's because of things like this.
Of course Kanye himself makes it difficult to like his music because of his pretentiousness. But at least his fans are level headed.

I dunno but I agree with you. Andre 3000 and Big Boi said in an article they don't do tours and don't sign autographs in a magazine(Vibe or XXL)few years back. And it stood out to me because they just came off their highest selling album and as a fan I'd love to see them in concert but in the end I buy their music for their music and not of their personality. Jim Jones, I hate his personality of constantly attacking everyone in the industry but I'm starting to warm up to some of his music and kind of look forward to this next album. I buy Kanye's music for his music, he gives me laughs with his publicity stunts and when ever I hear a news article with Kanye I kind of shrug it off because its the same thing, news outlets eat this shit up.

i can tell some people dont live in the USA, by their comments. Kanye's sold a lot of albums and gotten a LOT of critical acclaim for his efforts in the hip hop music scene. Radiohead has been around longer and also is very well known for their work.
however, in my eyes, this is great for kanye. too bad all of the peanut gallery sullied my good feeling kanye's ass gets annoyingggg, i was one of those guys who said stick to producing, but i cant tell him what to do 
they have some really good stuff OBVIOUSLY.
kanye also has some good stuff.
Jerks and assholes in the industry can go suck it. These larger than life folks can go live in their bubbles. This applies to both of these guys, neither of them are "The Beatles", so to speak.

While Kanye hasn't had such a huge/varied impact as Raiohead, he has definitely defined his genre for some time. The problem many hip hop fans have with him is that he gets credit for things other artists have done for far longer and far better. His entire soul sampling technique was right out of RZA's playbook, just more commercial. And from the Blueprint days when EVERYONE wanted soul beats to the domination of his first three albums to now, as record labels attempt to find the "next" Kanye by signing an onslaught of fashion conscious nerd/hipster rappers - his impact is undeniable.
He's not a great producer, he's not a good rapper. But like Lil Wayne, Kanye has dominated a weak playing field and by sounding different than 99% of mainstream rap he gets the attention; there hasn't been a more personal, conscious mainstream rapper than Kanye since Tupac, maybe Eminem. Yet while dominating pedestrian competition, when compared to past or current great artists he falls on his face. Basically he's the Ohio State football team of rap.
