It'd be nice if the other stages automatically went into a darker tendency by doing stuff like that.

3-1 and 3-2 have some awful bosses... the levels pay off though.

"The willies" is a rather specific feeling, though - I'm not sure there's a modern replacement. Jitters?

The two bosses in this area do seem a bit random, other than being relevant to the environment. Dirty Colossus has never been a boss I enjoy facing because it's pretty boring and I doubt I've ever died to it - it's too easy to run away and heal if you get hit.

Glad she found the MGS, I don't think she did in DS1 and it's more relevant here since it scales with faith in DeS.

I honestly don't believe Dirty Colossus is a boring fight. It is more tedious and had good execution, the only thing that took away the whole fear faction was how easy it is to get behind him and avoid most of his attacks. He's essentially an Alpha Build of the Rotten if we want to get into present design. But he had the bugs which consumed life and halved healing items. You're supposed to run into the fires to get rid of the bugs. So that was really cool, knowing you didn't HAVE to have those things munching on you.

It's sort of a hodge podge of things.. and maybe that's the point, but it doesn't make a lot of sense, nor does it look particularly interesting or intimidating.

Because she wasn't in Human form. They don't talk to you in Soul form... which is a huge shame, because that dialog just tears at your heart strings.

I think 3-1 kind of sucks, but 3-2, even with the nastiest of all the game's bosses, is still my favourite level.

Did she suicide on all those areas to get them pure black, then act like she didn't know what was going on?


Either way, she certainly had a crap ton more Stones of Ephemeral Eyes than that, yeah?

Alimnassor, she may as well run through all those levels in black tendency. She certainly did a lot of editing so you wouldn't have to deal with the retread.

That fight you had with the merchant gone mad in 2-1 was pretty epic.

I loved the way he "tricked" you into thinking he was about to fall down, and then nonchalantly burned you to a crisp when you rushed him.

Weird how some of these Black Tendency NPCs are even tougher than bosses.

Enjoy the game, Kay, I tend to skip bits and pieces of the retreads but that shouldn't stop you from playing the game however you please. As others have said, have you seen the latest bloodborne trailer? No shields(hopefully) so it should be a different experience for you. I would actually love it if you played the dark souls 2 dlc without a shield. 2 hand that shiz!

I would guess she's not watching any Bloodborne trailers. I don't think she watched anything for Dark Souls 2 or 1 or Demons. When she goes in blind she means it.
