Will Keith Olbermann's waar on NeoGAF never end??

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=26384779#post26384779

EDIT: Oh, the link there is broken, but Olbermann kinda almost called Gaffer Electric Blue his "Worst Person in the World" for some reason I can't remember:

on http://foknewschannel.com/ Keith Olbermann wrote:
But the gold goes to the heartless souls who criticized the purportedly dying ‘reddit’ poster identifying himself as “Lucidending.” Never confirmed nor disproved, “Lucidending” claimed to have had it after six years of fighting lymphoma; had it with the pain, had it with the fear, had it with the burden to his family. So he was going to discontinue his treatment and make use of Oregon’s Death With Dignity laws to end his life – and interact online with those who had questions before that end came today.

And as USA TODAY reported:

One post on NeoGAF, a gaming site, said of Lucidending’s decision: “That’s not courage. Courage would be if he decided to live as long as possible despite the horrible pain.”

Not hard-hearted enough for you? Try an allegedly religious website called “Christian Post” which portrays the empathy for Lucidending as “disturbing.”

Support for the terminally (or even just the terribly) ill – whether they fight until there is nothing left to fight with, or they leave instructions that they should be treated beyond unconsciousness and as long as a machine can keep their heart beating, or they choose to end life on some other terms – can never be “disturbing.”

It is part of our obligation to each other as human beings.

And the decision we support is theirs to make, and ours to counsel, debate, but ultimately to guarantee and if necessary to enact. It is a vow that is more essential than marriage or love, more honorable and worthy than any patriotism, more spiritual than any religion.

Ew, why follow Olbermann?

I don't follow him, the Second Avenue Sagas account quoted his tweet to begin with as being ignorant. see: http://twitter.com/SecondAveSagas/status/237974157239934976

why are you so aggressive?

You thought *I* was being agressive?

Someone send this thread to olbermann on twitter

This made me literally laugh for a while.

You could have most likely avoided the whole hostile argument thing without going for the snark right away. We don't have to win arguments all the time.

How was I being snarky? I was just pointing out that he was uninformed if he thought the subway line, which they've been planning for more than 75 years, was "woefully planned."

The very first thing you wrote to him was that he was "ridiculously uninformed". You publicly called a well known journalist (who is equally known for his foul temper) ignorant as a way of introducing yourself. How did you think it was going to go from there?

You're ridiculously uninformed if you don't see how you came across as snarky and combative. I thought you were for elevating our woeful discourse in America?

(see?)

Construction planning/mitigation and route planning are two different things.

Why is there no chair in this?

You started off kind of aggressive when you accused him of being "ridiculously uninformed". Even that wouldn't have been so bad if you hadn't thrown in "ridiculously".

Your first post could have just been "I thought you were for upgrading our woeful infrastructure". Then the two of you could have had a civil discussion on the matter, which is what I assume you wanted.

Oh Twitter, thank your for turning what would have once been a simple thought contained in someone's head into internet drama for us all to enjoy. Really. Thanks. This isn't sarcasm. At all.

You went in on the attack on someone you don't know at all. Yeah he was rude, but so were you so is it really a surprise the guy blocked you?

If you wanted to have a nice chat then calling him "ridiculously uninformed" was not a good idea.

Just go right into the informed view you think he should have. Lay out the info immediately. It's the same as a "you didn't get it" post in response to some movie critique. It's like thanks for telling me I'm stupid and I don't get it, but I still don't get it. Just think about how you approached this for a moment and forget that it's Olbermann. You could have said "Hey, I know it might be a nuisance but at least they are building infrastructure, and here's why that's good (continue with informed info here)..." But instead now along with arguing your point you've got to find the sickest way to burn Keith Olbermann on twitter, and you've gained nothing.

In 140 characters?

He is uninformed. You think a multi-billion dollar subway excavation in the densest city in America is going to go off without any issues? You think it's "woefully planned?" Seriously?
When accidents occur, including stuff in the past that caused construction to be temporarily halted, it's okay to call the construction poorly planned.

Especially if it was due to a planned explosion that got out of hand. It's the very definition of something that was poorly planned. They planned to have a controlled blast, but the plans went awry and caused debris to be showered on the streets above.
