Kid asks for a ps4 and gets more than he bargained for

I agree that the kid shouldn't get rewarded for bad grades, but this was over the top IMO

It would have been better just to say "bad grades = no PS4" or tell him that Santa checks for grades if he believes in Santa :P

Christmas is for joy it's not for teaching dumb lessons or for humiliating kids.

Eff Christmas. The only reason kids want to behave is because they want their presents for doing nothing. This kid clearly messed around at school and got crap grades you think he should be rewarded with a £350 gift? No.

As stated:
If that were true it wouldn't be used as an incentive to make children behave.

These parents want the best for their children by making sure they succeed in life and they're the scumbags because the didn't reward him?

I think what gets people upset is how the Uncle seems to get more out of humiliating the child then giving a lesson. And uploads for the world to see.

I think this type of prank is better suited for an adult. Children are too emotionally unstable and this type of prank could make it worse. Now, I'm not for reinforcing bad grades, but scratch the prank and tell the kid that if he would like a PS4 to redeem himself by studying hard and getting better grades.

When did I say that? You should learn to read. I was saying Christmas doesn't just exist for joy or we wouldn't use it to encourage good behavior.

It's like people on GAF just rush to respond without comprehending what is said.
He was agreeing with you and backing up your statement.

So stupid on the part of the gift giver.

You've got to fill it with something heavy so they think it's actually in there.

Not buying a kid a PS4 because he didn't get his grades up is fine and warranted. Teasing him with the box, taunting him continuously and putting it online for all his friends to laugh at it just makes you a cunt. I'm surprised people can't make the distinction here. Nevermind, I'm sure he learnt a great lesson or something.

i've no doubt this will only fortify the kid's desire to succeed at school with zero unforeseen emotional side effects.

He has a playstation, all he has to do is work on his grades and he gets to play it.

This is a bit over the top, but how coddled do you all think children need to be? You realize that kids have lived with corporal punishment for the bulk of history, most of those kids grew up to be ordinary citizens. I don't think this guy is going to be a mass murderer because he didn't get to watch BF4 crash on Christmas day.

If this kid is anything like me he'll end up most of his adulthood buying every console and handheld day one because his parents wouldn't get him that Game Boy for Christmas when he was younger.

That doesn't explain me. I buy everything and I got a SNES for Christmas just like I asked for.

Although my Uncle did do the fake out thing giving me the games first then pretending to not know I didn't already own the system needed to play them.

So obviously there's a PS4 somewhere. Pretty sure if he gets his grades up, they'll finally give it to him. Tough lesson but we don't know his history and his situation in school.

Idk about putting this on YouTube though...

No he wasn't. He was questioning what I said. Hence the question mark. If he was agreeing there'd be no need for that.
He was questioning other peoples stance that a child with bad behavior should be rewarded with presents. He was using your quote to back up his opinion that Christmas can be used to teach children a lesson. Look at what he posted right above your quote. You both agree on the same thing. You both even quoted the same guy to disagree with.

I won't insult your intelligence and act like I know their address.

I'll just flat out ask if I can take the PS4 off your hands?

3 days Before Christmas this lady who i barely knew offered to blow me , give me her home address so I can come over and do stuff if i gave her the ps4 for her kid for Christmas , now as a married man i obviously refused all this but I am only willing to return the ps4 sealed or give it away to something worthy not just give it for the sake of giving

i cant wait to see the second video where the kids gets his grades up, gets the ps4, but the only game he gets is knack and the guy laughs at him being upset again

PS4: willing to blow for

Mother of the year.

That uncle is a piece of shit. If my brother in law did this to my 6 year old son I would ask him to leave and not to return until he did the right thing.

Fuck, this pisses me off beyond belief.

That's fair. It's just an odd way of doing so then. I reread it like 5 times and it still reads to me like I'm being attacked. My apologies for that then.

How old is the kid? 8? You don't really get grades until 4th grade that matter. It's all about behavior and ability to focus prior to that.

People outside the family shouldn't see this shit. They're scumbags for putting it up on the Internet for people to see and whoever's yelling in that video sounds fucking mental.
